Thanks, the drawing is compliments of Dr. Amber Trichome (user here on the forum) and the majority of my girls are in 1 gallon root pots. If you don't use root pots or air pots, then I would suggest a minimum of 3 to 5 gallon. Actually, I would really suggest you grab a few root pots. The ones I use are an off-brand of the SmartPots. These are Aurora and the 1 gallon cost something like $1.75 each. I have 2-3 of the SmartPots but these off-brand ones are just as good. I also have a couple of 3 gallon root pots, but I save those for the plants I am going to veg for a long time first.

You sure about this because I read in some1 elses forum that he flowered in a dixie cup and his bud was ready in like 2 weeks... So im thinking the size of the will play a part in flowering times.

That's the same answer I would have given. The seed can actually take up to 20-25 days to start flowering depending on strain, and then the flowering time will be the same from then till the end as if you had vegged it first.

I agree. The person is either a complete moron or yanking your chain because your not going to have nothing but little cotton swabs for buds in just 2 weeks flowering. And like Blue said, after 8 or more weeks of flowering, if its done in a dixie cup you might yield a bowl pack if your lucky. So it would be dumb to do that.

Cloning is pretty easy. Make sure you use a rooting hormone. Some people perfer rooting gels, I like to go with the powder. I get the best results from it. 98% of the time I will have a 100% success rate.

If you are new to growing check out my blog. I don't have a lot of growing 101 posts yet, but I will be adding to it all the time. Doing it in order. For example, Picking seeds, germinating seeds, planting your germinated seeds, taking care of seedlings and the next post will be about the vegetative stage.

I also will be doing advanced growing posts. Only got one or two of those done but after I get most of the basics posted I can focus on advanced growing.

Warning: Cloning is almost more addictive than growing. I currently have 6 clones in veg and 21 clones in my propegator. And about half my flowering room is clones. I love cloning...

I concur. My first cloning efforts (which were 100% successful, by the way) were done using the ever popular Clonex, but frankly, that stuff is a little expensive, very icky, difficult to get out of the package and wastes a lot. Then I tried a liquid that you were supposed to soak the newly cut stem in for 60 seconds then transplant. 100% fail. I switched over to powder and I will NEVER go back. I have not only had 100% success rate with powder, but there is very little waste, the stuff is wicked cheap, and I just dip the stem and go. I highly recommend cloning powder.

Yeah that's what I like about the powder. Really no waste or mess. Very simple yet effective. Very cheap and you use such a small amount per clone. What I do, I have a little cup of water, when I take a clone I dip it in the water, then into the powder that way it coats the clone and stays coated. I also take the powder I am going to use and put a little in a plastic bag, that whey I am not dipping the clones into the whole powder container. But yeah I just did clones recently, twice actually and both times I had 100% Success.

Oh, and your pictures in the next post are awesome. Everything is coming out great. I see your going to have some awesome pics to submit. Can't wait!

i use clonex, as i am altogether new at this, it is all i know. i have not yet lost a clone! i pour out a dab of clonex onto some tin foil and then i gently scrape the stem of the clone with the pruning shears, and then roll the stem into the small pile. i dont think i have overused my clonex at all and it seems like i have BARELY put a dent in the small bottle (100mL). i believe now i have taken 13 clones total. will be taking more and more, as this is a perpetual...

will certainly have to give powder a try when my clonex runs out, to be sure...

Yea I researched a while back and found that you will have higher success rates with powder... But what I would like to know is are clones usually smaller in size, I mean like the stems because I''ve seen a couple and the look very small compared to seed stems?

you get to pick how long you make the stem. mine end up being around 3 inches from top to bottom...gives a good almost full 2 inches into the 2 inch rockwool cube...

A lot of people take clones from the bottom branches because they aren't gonna develop much anyways, and they clone a lot easier. There is less foliage they need to keep alive.

When you clone from tops, its harder to get 100% but the ones that do clone successfully they turn out to be a beast. This is what I do, I take my clones from the bottom like usually, and since I usually top my plants, I take the tops and clone them. You will always get a few that will make it, takes longer to root and harder to keep alive but when you succeed they become monsters.

To anyone that was interested in submitting your pics to have them featured as our buds of the week I would do so tonight or early morning because I plan on picking the bud of the week, and I hope to be able to get the post up tomorrow.

I don't have much to choose from this time so I am in need of submissions. Link is in the sig.
