hey humbolt I was just wondering how much does a yard of the FF soil cost you? Do you have a hook up or can anyone go buy it in bulk?
anyone can buy it in bulk from a distributor, it comes on a pallet. i get a pallet just under 500 bucks.

big pots (5 gal -up) can provide a bigger root / plant. your growing environment should dictate the size of pots.
example: indoor grows with limited space don't require 5 gal pots etc.
outdoor grow go for the huge pots.
does this make sense?

just mt 2 cents

Purps is one of my fave rate outdoor purple strains, i never have used flora nova but it would be good if you get those pots full of roots.

Hey Humbolt, earlier you mentioned growing in 100g and 200g. What's the difference you get between those two? Is it actually double or more like 15-20% better? And is that the biggest you've gone? I'm like 2 clicks from picking up the 200g. I just know i"m going to be hurting when it comes to buying all that soil to fill them up.

go for the 200 g. as long as you feed good and that 200 g pot fills up with roots you will be one happy mother fucker.

and you will get much more then a 20% gain. its double the soil and you have double the roots them you will get double the harvest.

i have never gone bigger then that size pot but i have gone bigger. we dig huge pits and fill them with soil, thats how you grow a tree

I'll be subbing to your grow humbolt! with those smart pots I thought the roots would just grow right out the bottom because of the breathable material? How much of the bottom do you cut out, just a few holes or the whole entire bottom?

I double dug a bed about 2 feet deep then filled it with 1 inch compost 2 inch soil layers, You need to wok from one end, becasue the trick is never to step on that soil again, to prevent it compacting.
Put a seedling in it and left it, it became a tree, and I'm still not sure I can get the stem out of the ground a year later. about 3 feet away from it I put a nother seedling, this one had its light obscured by those seethrough carport roofs, and only grew to about 3 feet, and could hardly support the weight of its smallish nugs.

Just look up double digging on youtube.

Hey believe and think for yourself man. Just so you know, one of the top premier legit medical cannabis breeder in this wild wild west has long been proven the very piss poor job of soil making that the folks at fox farms does. They recently just settled an out of court settlement with Aurora Innovations...aka Roots Organics. If you'd like some science into some shady practices of fox farm , google subcool fox farms......

Just to clarify " exp. growers who know better, and put research into the product they buy and eventually use". With that, you have not a clue whats in your overly priced bullshit ocean forest.

The somoa plant that they use not to far from the airport is an old radiation waste lab....great place to have soil made at.

Or for your own beneficiary go to any hydro shop, and ask them what there #1 recommend brand is, I promise not a one will say anything fox farms. Its very well known that fox farms are for newbies in the industry. Again, dont believe anything I say, think, find, and believer for yourself. Maybe head to a cannabis cup, or a medical cup, see if fox farms shows up, or general hydroponics for that matter.

Fox Farms, General Hydroponics markets for newbies, and the overwhelming majority of their business comes from newbies who don't know any better. So until then, keep thinking your watered down earthworm casting/ bat guano tea called big bloom is the next best thing!
I agree 100%. Fox Farm products are MASSIVELY over-hyped. In my experience using FF soil, and nutes, I found that my plants did a whole lot better in Pro-Mix BX soiless, and without a doubt - my Botanicare line of nutrients outperformed FF nutrients. 4 plants (all of them Sour Kush), 2 were potted in FF soil and fed FF nutes. The other 2 plants in Pro Mix and fed Botanicare nutes. The difference was like night and day. I find it amazing that someone can simply slap a fancy looking label on a bottle and folks just gobble it up. Mostly "newbie" growers, as you mentioned.
