These are all Northern Lights and sprouted on April 1. How do they look? Max temps reach 82. Usually between 76-82. Was seeing a few brown spots so I flushed a few days ago and fed with 1/4 strength nutes. Vegging under 600 watt MH at 50%. MG Soil with 20% Perlite. 50% Humidity but it was 25-30 for the first couple weeks. Thanks.

might be a little young to use nutes right now. but thats just me i didnt start mine till almost week 4
I guess your probably right but they looked like they weren't growing that fast so I only added a little. When do the plant really start blowing up with growth. They have new growth every day but some peoples plants look bigger at 3 weeks?

Also....when do you think I should transplant these to a bigger pot. How big should they be before I do that? They have been in this pot since germination. Cheap walmart pots. I would say they are 1/2 gallon but not sure.

I must say, I realy am enjoying the hydro thing, basicaly once you hit 2 weeks old, you can go for 1/3rd strenght nutes, without ever haveing to worry what is in the soil allready.
The rootball in a healthy plnat or tree will nearly mirror the plant you see above the the ground. So when the leaves starts overlapping the pot, I would pot up again.

hey they look very healthy. being that you're using the cheap walmart pots i hope you added some extra perlite to your soil for good drainage and aeration. when you get the chance hit a hydro shop and get some better pots.
as for the size of plants it can consist of multiple factors i.e. indica or sativa, pot size, lighting, humidity (try to get it around 70) etc. make sure you have good airflow as well.
if anything just try to keep your babies as healthy as possible at all times and let the rest fall in place. i hope this helps and thanks for sharing.

hey where u get ure seeds from?? i got my seeds from nirvana and started at the exact same time as u. (u can check my grow out in my signature at bottom if u want) your plants look good but i dont think there is any need to use nutes just now. my plants slowed down for a few days and then i changed my pots and they just went boom!!! and seem to be growing alot.u can always just bang the sides of your pot and tip it upside down as if u were repotting then check to see if it is rootbound, and if it is then repot . the last pics in my post are from day 16 and i will put up some pics tonight (21st)

I got them from Nirvana too. I checked one of the plants and I don't see many roots growing around the sides. I will check out your thread. Thanks.

The soil is 4 parts MG Organic potting soil and 1 part perlite. There is plenty of drainage. It is hard to get my humidity above 55 but I keep it around there. I will get some bigger pots tomorrow and transplant. Hopefully that will help them blow up. Thanks

I just saw yours from day 16 and they are much bigger then mine. I think one of the reason is I have my 600 MH dimmed to 50%. If I leave it on a 100 the room gets very hot. I have a 440 cfm 6" vortex fan, 6" duct fan for intake, and a big fan blowing on the light. Maybe transplanting will help.

hmmm i dont seem to have a problem with heat issues and i have a 600w dual spec on full blast and just a 8 inch desk fan blowing the tops. i also dont bother with humidity or ph or anything like that, maybe i should though haha.

from the pics it looks like you're in a tent and if so just close it up and leave a vent or two open. i had the same problem until i did what i instructed to you. if you have a fan leave it on the lowest setting, that will help keep humidity up as well.

The plants don't look bad but they are slightly curling up and some of the leaf tips have a shine to them. Not sure what it is or how to fix it? I have added epsom salts (because I had some rust spots on lower leaves) about a week ago but really no changes. What do your temps get up to in your tent and in the room outside of the tent? Are you bringing in fresh air from outside or just using passive intake from the room you have it in? I have a lot of money invested in this and really don't want anything to happen. I could obviously recoup most of my money on ebay but I want buds lol.

Yes it is a 4x4x7 tent. It has a 440 cfm Vortex fan for pulling air out. I live in a rental complex so a lot of the air gets pumped into the same room. I have the duct work pointing up at an open window but too scared to actually put it right in the window. As for intake I have it in the corner of the room so the left 2 intake holes are blocked by a wall. There are 2 on the right side. The 1 on top of the right side is closed and the one on the bottom is bringing air in from the other window with a 6" duct fan (probably about 150 cfm?) I don't have a oscillating fan, just a house fan that blows. I have it hanging from the top of the tent by a string and it is on the lowest setting. It blows at the area between the light and plants but will also blow the plants a little bit. I really haven't had many problems except for shiny leaf tips, a couple brown spots on lower leaves, and the temps being too high (hence why I keep the ballast dimmed to 50%). They are growing but not rapidly. I thought they would be bigger by now. Obviously I want them to grow faster becasue it will cut down my overall costs (running the lights). One more thing is I have the tent sitting over top a central air registar duct and cut a rectangular hole. I am not using central air right now because it is 50 degrees outside. When I do use it I set my air at 73 and keep the fan on instead of automatic. Any other ideas about shiny leaf tips or how to control temps better would be helpful. Maybe I should get one of those CO2 bag things so I can run hotter temps and maybe turn my light to 100%? Thanks for all the replies.

plants look great and yes soon as you see roots you should implement some light food regiment the leaf curling can be many things try not to give them to much water just like 1/2 cup every 4 days or so for now but you need to get humidity up allot higher thats main reason your leafs are curling just boil some water and place in jugs or pails around your plants that will increase your humidity you should be trying to get tent @ 60 - 75 you ever walk into a green house ???? also very important not to over water cause chances of your leafs starting to yellow off will happen thus giving you a impression of N def then you start adding more food and sooner or later your chaseing your plant as for temps try to maintain 75 - 85 max 82 being ideal the brown spots on leafs can very well be plant is taking its energy from the leafs Phosfurus its needing food so please start by giving them some food ASAP maintaining ph of 6.8 - 7.0

as for food try to balance it out like 1 - 3 - 5

Thanks a lot. I will work on getting the humidity up like you said. I fed them 1/4 strength nutes the other day after I flushed them. The soil is still sort of moist so I will wait until it sried out a little until I feed again. I got better nutes yesterday that have some micronutes in it. The first one I bought only had npk and no micronutes at all. What I originally bought and fed to them once http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100096794/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=miracle+grow+fertilizer&storeId=10051 What I bought yesterday (has micronutes in it) http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100035250/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=miracle+grow+fertilizer&storeId=10051 I will try to find some food higher in phosfurus.

yea be carfull with that water it back large cause of the nitrogen content is very high if you can hit a garden center they will have stuff in 500 gram packages thats good with less nitrogen and for like 5.00 try to get something like 1 - 3 - 5 or 6 -12- 15 those kind of numbers or close to it also its a good idea to do pending on how much your soil drys up feed , 3 days later foilage spray plants with water , then 2 days later water then next day feed kinda like that schedule just dont add lots of volume of water do it in smaller implements you will see massive growth spurt
also when spraying plants do it lights off

I will do that. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. I have read a lot but still am very new to this.

Also, my light is about 14" away from the tops of the plants. My hand doesn't get hot under it. It is dimmed to 75% so I assume it's about 450 watts right now. Is that good or should I move it up?
