ill post a video for you forgetiwashere of exactly how to measure the moisture/oxygen content of rockwool, once you get it right, you will fall in love with it, creates such a solid base for your rootballs development at the base of the trunk. i hear you though, if not done correctly it can cuase headaches.each to there own i just find it easier to go straight into my bucket in hydroton. only ever tried rockwool once though so i guess i never gave it much of a chance
Well done dude nice job!Laughing buddha is now drying .. wet weight = exactly 1 pound
I have a T5 and they are almost touching the clones seedlings like 1mm gap . I do have a clear cover over the bulbs tho. Never had a probs with heat or burnWell the domes are fairly Useless... I use em for a few days then discard of it cause it creates major problems... My Fool-proof Seed raising mix contains food from the get go so they're fairly hard to kill.. I use
~Cow Shit
~Coco
~Perlite
Mix it up at a ratio of 60 poo 10 coco 30 perlite... Thats composted shit too bro... Soak beans for 24 hrs Paper Towel in a Zip-lock On my hot water service gives it a really good boost... So i usually go with a small tail like 3-5mm I pre-wet my media with clean pure water
grab a pen make a hole bout double the size of the seed... Cover gently over with soil not completely tho i like to be able to see the seed so light can get in there and do its job chuck under 24/7 best lighting for seeds i think no dark cold times for the little seedlings is better i change down to 18/6 after they become actual plants lol.. Water those lings lightly they are generally happy when they're facing the light all perky and shit and generally unhappy when the cotlyedons are droopy... the use of the humidi domes are good but as i said on for a few days i keep the vents half open the first day take the lid off twice a day to for fresh air then 2nd and 3rd fully open vents lifting the lid again then by the 3-4th take the lid off... A T8 setup or the thicker fluoros keep them suckers almost touching.. a t5 is generally hotter and requires more distance tho i have not used one before! try that any questions fire away i have tryed many times to sucessfully master seed raising with no nutes or food but i think they are happier with some food straight up!
Good job supa, your a champ, rockwool is rockin.Nothing wrong with the rockwool cubes . Pre soak in ph 5.5 water with 0.0ec and leave it till the next day to plant your seed . I dont see why people are having a hard time with rockwool its fool proof . Rockwool if done properly is extremely stable.
LOL, no its not a lurkers community, you can only join via invite, they dont like people they dont personally know being in the community, if a member invites someone, they are responsible for that person, if the person fucks up you both get chucked out, its what makes a trusting community of breeders.Hazey i cant remember bro what you said about cannectics... how does the system work over there? is it testers only? can members lurk and be apart of the community still?
Buck, not an attack or anything, i just dont understand the sense in putting organic material in with perlite or coco ( the organic being the shit ), if your using hydro medium, you should use the feed and materials for that type of medium, in my mind, shit would do a nice organic super soil mix, it just wouldnt have the same effect in coco/perlite. just an observation and a thought, please correct me if im wrong or explain your your way of thinking, thanks chief, im open to trying if theres good reason too.Well the domes are fairly Useless... Definately hit the nail on the head with domes.yeah rockwool sucks
and humidity domes can kill seeds. they cause damping off. i think they are mostly for people in cold climates. thats one thing you gotta remember when on the forums. most other people are in cold climes and all there advice is suited to that not our balmy weather.
fucking 95% humidity at my place at the moment reached 100% at one stage yesterday. thats outside my grow room. my dehumidi is working over time getting nearly 20l a day out of it and its still only dropping the humidity in my room down to 75% too fucking high aaaargh. hope the weather eases soon or im looking at another case of bud rot either that or im going to have to buy another dehumidi and run both
