if you can hold your hand under the light with out discomfort then your plants will be ok with the light height. With a 600 HID uncooled, you don't want that thing any closer than 12 inches from your plant -- prolly closer to 18 inches. HID lamps get really hot, and you will fry the little one in no time.
Yeap but what about the high temperatures? What happens if your grow room temp is over 90F but nonetheless the "hand over the canopy" test isn't too hot?Would that affect or stress the plants? That's the question!if you can hold your hand under the light with out discomfort then your plants will be ok with the light height.
True to a point, but you will have to hold it there for like five minutes. You can't just test the temp for a few seconds and think it's ok.if you can hold your hand under the light with out discomfort then your plants will be ok with the light height.
Exactly. Over 90 degrees and your growth is slowing to a crawl. Over 100 and growth has stopped. You want your temps below 80.Yeap but what about the high temperatures?
