did I just hermie my whole crop?

I have a space heater with red LEDs that show at night. Been using it for a month or so. I just happened to read that red light is not a safe night light. You guys think this will cause hermies later on?

IDK dude, having had the minor light leak issues I have suffered through before, I say one can never be too careful... I use a green CFL to type by, as my computer is right next to my grow, covered of course, but still, u can never be too careful... Can u not tape it up, or just take out the little red led so it isn't an issue in the first place... U never know man... I've seen the slightest bit of white, blue, red, or yellow spec light cause a naner to pop up... So, itz yer call... Of course, as stated, in veg, I wouldn't sweat it too much, but when u start flowering, u'd better be more safe than sorry, if u know what I'm sayin'...

idk, i think people over hype light leaks causing hermies honestly.. here's why..

i grow in a small closet, and i always keep the door open a good few inches all of the time to help with heat.. been growing in said closet for over 3 years and have never had one hermie.. grown both regular seeds and fems from many breeders.. :)

and secondly, i have a power strip that has a red light on the end of the plug that is on all of the time, and again, never a hermied plant, not a one...

and look at the outdoors.. i like to look at nature for common sense when it comes to growing.. some nights the moon is on full blast and it's pretty light outside, and how often do you hear about plants going hermie from moon light?? my guess is not a one..

of course i would think that growing outdoors right under a street light would cause problems, but small amounts of light, not so much imo and ime..

I have the same type of open door closet type setup... Never had any light poisening issues myself... Just one shitty strain once... Green cfl's kick ass for lurking around a dark growroom...

racerboy's got it. Hermies are usually caused by other forms of stress or genetics and then BLAMED on small light leaks because the grower doesn't want to acknowledge/notice their mistakes... or buy real seeds...

A serious light leak will stunt growth and development noticably, before hermies even show.

moonlight is not bright enough to mess up flowering, not even a full moon.and light leaks can stress plants out.if for example your plants are flowering and you have just a small red light shining on just one branch in the dark period, the signals in that branch will tell it to reveg, and that can confuse the plant and stress it out causing it to herm.
you do need to worry about bright/direct light during the dark period.

LOL purplehays1! Yeah, if ya cant duct it, then fuck it! Right? I use a shit-ton of all colors of electrical tape, and the electrician's version of duct tape(which is awesome if u like reg duct tape), called Electrician's Bundling Tape, made by 3M... It's so much easier to deal with, and works JUST as well, if not better... But, I'm with ya man!
duct tape over the lights!!!.....my flower room keeps the tape companies in business

i do SO MUCH SHIT thats "probably not necessary" but what the hell it could be helping!!!! such as washing razors with peroxide if i reuse them, and putting a light shield up over my door so NO light gets in if i have to go in at night or singing to my babies when they look a little stressed :)

PS that choc lab is cute as hell!!!
