I'm not getting into the politics of it. But she is right the price of everything has increased a lot! The laundry detergent I used increased in price by $3 a jug. Whiska's cat food increased a dime a container. Pickles, olives, cheese, paper products have all increased in price. Beef and chicken have increased.

My husband was a wholesale grocer we keep in touch with the food brokers and it looks like it won't get better anytime soon. Place your bets on crop futures.

Where is all that cheap gas now that "Bush and his big oil cronies" are not longer colluding. Oh wait...

Yeah, I know, I am disappointed too. What happened to all that oil we stole from Iraq?

The only thing we got out of the deal was Cheney finally had a heart implant! It's like the Wizard of Oz.

though i seldom post here any more, i saw this and had a small chuckle and i knew i had to post something. i've kind of missed these board.

"If you say one more fucking thing I'll go find your manager and all three of us can discuss this."
At that, she suddenly deflated. Now the look in her eyes was fear. She looked down and meekly mumbled "Ok. Sorry sir."
I left then, proud of myself and still full of anger.
the above quote represents one of the primary components of the progressive ideology. that the writer felt fully justified in publicly cussing out someone because of their opinions and even felt proud of himself for doing so is the hallmark of the "compassion" of liberalism today. the use of the fear of authority to silence opposition is another favorite tool of the liberal machine. the ever expanding list of rules and regulations they embrace is the friend only of those who are incapable of controlling their own actions. they recognize that even the best intentioned law can be twisted to serve their own interests. what followed this quote is nearly as telling. that the woman must be ill-informed and rattled by the conservative fear machine is the sort of reasoning that allows the followers of progressive authoritarianism to believe their cause is just, because only they and their leaders are intelligent and informed enough to know what is best for the nation.

yes, it gave me a small chuckle. a sad and disgusted chuckle.

...did you read the part about how the lady was bitching about Obama to the customer before the guy too?

The context you put it in makes it seem as if this sweet little old lady was just sharing her opinion then this liberal fuck lashed out and threatened her with tattling to her manager.

Well said. I agree.

How this diarist can be so utterly without introspection just amazes me. It is one thing to treat this store clerk so contemptuously, but it is orders of magnitude worse to then proudly recount the incident in a public diary on the internet for all to see; and then comes the flood of comments of affirmation from fellow KOS progressive travelers below the diary entry. Like I said in the initial post, I am glad this guy is on the progressive side of the spectrum, I sure would not want to be associated with him.

Tell me one business where you are allowed to spout political rhetoric to your customers/clients/patrons and not get fired for it? He asked her to stop and she tried to continue with her diatribe of rhetoric and misinformation. He then threatened to go over her head. And in all fairness, he did state that he felt bad for his approach. Personally I think he could have handled it better. I would have said something similar. Sans the word FUCK of course.

People should not think of it as prices increasing, but think of it as your dollar losing its value.

Any bar in any city buddy. I suppose you consider the bartender as your servant and too low in status to engage in conversation.

OMA!!!! The annoying bitch was killing him! It was that horrible torture known as partisan hackery. One more minute of it, and he would've became another Manchurian Candidate like Lee Harvey Oswald!

The last thing I want to hear after work is some idiot who has me as a captive audience, knows it and uses it to spout political bullshit at me. She was rude and her choice of topic was inappropriate and, judging by her response, against company policy. If she had been spouting leftist bullshit, you righties would have had her fired without batting an eyelash.

Then why are you in the politics forum? lol

jk I agree with you though. People need to know their boundaries as a representative of a company.

Awww its so sad i never get to run into ppl like that woman, nothing makes my day more than meeting bitches/assholes and getting to have a chat with them. What kind of a fucking sick-o goes around fucking with old ladies, you gotta be a real bitch to fuck with a poor old lady who is still having to work at 75, and then bitch them out and threaten to call there manager just because you don't like something they are saying about the fucking moron we have in the white house.

Sorry for the language but thats the one thing that bothers me the most about our generation, no respect, for our elders, for our peers, or for ourselves (and vanity and pride are a totally different concept then self respect). Some of us need to go back to preschool and learn how to play with others, word like please, thank you, and your welcome are lost to so many of us. We act like everyone owes us something just for being here, or for not making things easier on us, we want to say everything we want and scream freedom of speech at every turn, until someone says something we don't like.
