reports of russian anti-terror troops on the ground in syria is raising new concerns about whether russia's policies are indirectly, or even directly, enabling the brutal crackdown on syrian protesters.russia's defense ministry acknowledged monday that the navy's iman oil tanker arrived at the syrian port of tartus 10 days ago on a mission to assist russian navy ships on anti-piracy patrols in the gulf of aden and “for demonstrating the russian presence in the turbulent region and possible evacuation of russian citizens," the black sea fleet told interfax news agency.

a ministry spokesman would not say how many troops are on board, but russian news reports suggest a more active military presence in syria.russia is a strong ally to syrian president bashar assad and has angered fellow members of the united nations security council by blocking repeated attempts to put an end to violence in syria.a security council source told abc news that the arrival of members of russia’s military in syria was a “bomb” of a development, sure to have serious repercussions.interfax reported the tanker arrived in tartus on the mediterranean sea with an anti-terror squad from the russian marines.abc news reported that ria novosti, a news outlet tied to the kremlin, announced the arrival only on its arabic-language website.russian embassy officials have declined to comment, but russian foreign minister sergei lavrov last week told a meeting of the russian state duma that there were no plans for sending combat troops to syria, according to ria novosti.“as for the question whether i consider it necessary to confront the united states in syria ... To take part in military actions, no. I believe this would be against russia’s national interests,” lavrov said.valentina matviyenko, speaker of the russian parliament’s upper house, said last week that a government delegation would visit syria this week for discussions with representatives from assad’s cabinet and opposition groups, according to ria novosti.russian defense minister anatoly serdyukov denied reports that special forces were inside syria, although he said there are military and technical advisers in the syria.the port of tartus is now the only naval base russia has outside the former soviet union. A russian navy squadron made a call there in january in what was seen by many as a show of moscow's support for assad.the associated press contributed to this report.

Another bit of FOX magic reporting...frankly I'd be embarrassed to sight FOX.
Hmm... your well informed thinking it's all about FOX.
The news about Russian troops can be found on ABC News, CBS, NBC, and yes also on Fox. Haven't checked MSNBC or CNN yet.
Could be there too.bongsmilie

The source is not the issue. The issue is America is threatend whenever someone acts for themselves, without their approval... The fact it's on the news, the way it's put, is to make people act just like NLXSK did... WW3?!Omgz

Russia's Foreign Minister today denied news reports that a team of Russian anti-terrorism troops had arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus.
At a press conference in Moscow today Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the reports "fairy tales" and said the Russian tanker Iman that arrived at the Mediterranean port had a security team on board only to guard against pirate attacks as it transited the Gulf of Aden.
"Like any other civilian support vessel taking part in the counter-piracy operation, this tanker is carrying security units that will not allow pirates to seize this tanker or any other civilian vessel in the Gulf of Aden in the event of an attack," the minister said, according to the Russian Interfax news agency.
As usual. Fox and NX are full of shit.

haha. poor planet :(
I like my government more in the primitive days. Fuck this 2012 hyper-bullshit scene. If today was like the days way before us, some brave leaders would usurp the useless political member chairs overnight. Brutal, and effective! I guess political crimes are above any standard punishment from the sheeple system.

By naming him Hussein and having him live in Indonesia and attend Madrasa?
Funny thing is that the people that are accusing Fox News of this cannot come up with actual proof...

No commentator on Fox News has said that Obama was a Muslim, it just didnt happen.

I remember the good ol' 80's when you knew who the bad guys were, Russia (Soviet Union)and Cuba as well as Libya. Now, because of the internet, technology and the rightwingliberalsocialistgreenypoliticallycorrect agenda, middle class and regular working stiffs are considered Neanderthals and must be wiped out all together in favour of the homeless/poor/lesbian/gay/global warming/green/sustainability/save the earth/neo-con/illegal immigrant/trust government bull shit.

I keep wondering when and if there will ever be a revosolution.
