Mom

Do any of you have parents that don't smoke? :-? Ugh. I hear a lot of people say things like they smoked with their parents when they were 17 or whatever... I'm 25 years old and when my mom randomly drops by i'm always scrambling to hide anything she might even remotely connect to marijuana, which of course is so ridiculous because i'm not a teenager, I have my own place, I have my MMJ card and still....I just can't stand the thought of my mom finding out. I cringe just thinking about the comments i'd have to listen to. I'd have to say...my mom is the one person that I care if she disapproves of my behavior. Especially since my mom had the same health issues I now have and she "made it" without smoking through it. So. Anyone else feel like a kid when it comes to family visiting?

You hide an integral part of your life from your mom? That sucks. :)
Well...it's really the only thing I have to hide from her lol. It's really not about...I don't know how to explain it. You'd have to understand our relationship. I don't think she'd actually care that I smoke. I think...it would be something more like she could make it without smoking, I should be able to make it without smoking. And if I can make it without smoking, then why am I doing it type of thing. It will morph into something it's not even about. My weaknesses vs her strengths basically. And then i'll hear about it. For years. My children's children will hear stories about how she went through the whole ordeal with her head up while her daughter went through it in a cloud of smoke.

I started tokin with my mom when I was 13, I grew up fast and worked hard. As long as I earned my keep I was allowed to smoke.

Both my folks puff on occasion. My folks are one of the reasons I grow. To help them out. No common ground to be found with her?

both my folks know i smoke and they are ok with it. they actually saw that it made a positive impact in my life. it really helped me focus through college. i wasn't planning on going to college and then went back on my own and that alone convinced them it was ok.

You are doing the right thing - say's you still respect your mom which is an honorable thing. better than being all cained with brown bong water stinking up your apartment when she visits. good effort i say ...

My mom told me years ago that weed makes her horny (ewwww). I've never asked her about it again.
I laughed at that one hard!
My mom told me she pissed herself when she smoked...probably kept the part about "laughing so hard" out of that story for "my own good"
The story hasn't changed even though I toke next to her many times a week for years now. Oh well...
