3rd gen grower.
It may be time to casually educated mom on the proven benefits of cannabinoids. for the sake of your relationship.
She can tell that something is up, I'm sure.
I just went through this explaining my career to "mother".
Eventually (weeks later) she conceded that emotional people might benefit from cannabis, on top of the cancer fighting properties.

there is still disdain, cannabis still gets me high.
but at least there is understanding.

I get nothing but disdain . Members of family who are theives , liars and cheat on their spouses frequently are some how more respected than potsmokers , which is why I have little to do with them .

My folks don't smoke, but they know I'm a grower, and a smoker, and a legal one at that.

I just couldn't picture sharing a joint with my folks, even at my age. I definatly don't see myself doing that my kids either.....other things to bond together over.

Keeping the focus on LEGAL is very important, most of the argument against pot is the legal side.

I pointed out to "mother" that cannabis is prescribed instead of chemical pills here, the only side affect being happy/hungry/high to steal from Katt Williams.
There are 2 million+ medical cannabis patients here.
And that most of us use cannabis to deal with our PTSD and anger issues. RAWR!!!

Very true . Spent time in veterans hospitals on all kinds of pills that just either made me sick or debillitated me . A life of drooling , itchy rashes , nightmares , insomnia and PTSD episodes is all I would have , if it were not for the one medication that works - cannabis . They really can never know how much this has helped me unless they have lived it , been through what I have . Morphine , klonopin , zoloft , prozac , buspar , effexir , vallium and many other meds that I was prescribed instead of just one that works .
