Well I don't have the light being cooled (besides a fan blowing on it) But I have the A/C Unit installed pointed in the lights directon, But the light stays rather cool (I always go in there and break up some bud on top of the light and roll one), as Im on 18/6, the light starts at 6pm and turns off at 12 Noon the next day, I decided to run the light at night because I live in CA but right now the nights get real cold, and the days are pretty warm, so the temp in the room stays at around 74-78 while the light is on, and 55-60 while the light is off, so this is good right? And I have a fan circulating air in their and a small vent in the roof for air to escape out, and it has not gotten warm enough in the shed to use the A/C yet, so that's good!, but If i was running the light during the day (I tried) I am fighting temps of 86-88 in the shed, thus FORCING me to turn the A/C on and run up my bill some more, nope, to keep temps cool and not use the A/C, I run that biatch at night!

Not cooled 12 is to close and a 20 degree difference in day and night is not good about 10 degree difference is what u need id move my light to about 16 inches my 400 is 16 inches from the canopy just make sure they dont burn

i took some pictures last night before I topped them, I used Uncle Bens method I think it was on here, all of the plants range from 9-11 inches, 10 inches being the average most of them are, So i topped them last night, I think I should wait 1 more week then put the HPS bulb in a flip to 12/12, they should be well above 14-15 inches when I do the switch to 12/12, Does this sound like a good plan to you guys??

- cool looking room, some one help me here.
I want to make my own grow journal, however ever time i take pics of the closet they come out distorted because of the light, Like in your 3rd picture. Any help is appreciated.

hey man, its unavoidable if u have a mag ballst, those black liines are the ballast rapidly firing the bulb on/off/on/off, etc. its tooo fast for your eyes to notice... but not the shutter on the camera, OR the plants =) theres a reason digitals are "more efficient" than oldskool mags... you might wanna get a rebuild kit for it

-- Today is DAY 1 of Week 3 in VEG (18/6) --
So today is the start of week 3 for me in VEG, im gettin pretty close to switching the light to 12/12 and taking out the MH bulb and putting my brand new HPS bulb in, Oh yeah I also Panda Filmed the room, it is WAY brighter in there now, and I noticed after I put the panda up, it got alot warmer in there too, check pics below they were taken last night, I was trying to buy "SunFilm" from my local grow shop, but the guy working in there kept saying Panda, Panda, Panda!! it's better! So I went with the panda film..
What do you guys think so far? Do you guys think I should flip to 12/12 the end of this 3rd week in VEG??

Very informative post i didnt even kno that always wondered why my t12 did that but not my 400 its cause i have a digital ballast so what bulb do you suggest with a digital ballast digilux or hortilux?

You know it, I did looking good wish i had a few phenos of it u might wait a while to go to 12/12 ur room is huge maybe even 2 more weeks or more dont forget train, train, and train somemore and trim alot of under nodes at beginning of flower take nodes but leave fan leaf . Your doing good panda film makes it alot brighter good job.

I would definetly veg them for at the very least 2-4 weeks. GDP isnt a fast grower and it looks like those plants can fill out A LOT more before you flower them. After the different nodes start shooting up in about a week or two after them being topping i would start pulling the nodes down.
For instance i used rocks to pull the nodes down but you can simply jsut use some thin string and pull it to the pot and seal it with duct tape.

theres some more info in my thread from another respected member here he actually has the info as to WHY, they do that, not just my janky opinion "just cause".... lol as for bulb all i ever used is horti, not to say others arent good, i just have not experienced using anything else, if it aint broke dont fix it ?? ya know?
(edit)im going to reccomend you veg for at least another 3 weeks they look like they gave you some really small cuts man, but i dont kno, is there any way to move your light closer bro? i think that would help speed things up

Well, too late to wait, today is ending of week 3 veg, its been about 21 days, I measured them today, almost all of them were 14 inches and growing, (2 small ones were about 10 in) I took out the MH bulb, put it the HPS bulb, set the timer to 12/12, I felt this was best, we will see how it works out! Maybe I should of vegged longer, But I think it will be just fine.

Ok guys I have a situation and I need your help, my other grow (see signature below for link) Is coming close to harvest, but not all those plants are going to be harvested at the same time, thats a problem for me because I was going to use that room for drying also when the plants were cut, anyways, my 2 Super Grape Ape plants are coming close to being cut down, those will be the first to come down and I was wondering if I could dry them in my current GDP Shed Grow, the light is on 12/12 now, I can hang them up away from the light, or kinda above the light, my question is, Can I hang up a couple plants to dry in this GDP Shed? the light is off 12 hours, so they will be getting SOME darkness, and I have fans and a/c, I just don't really have another place to hang them to dry... will this be okay??
