Really stoked, my appointment is on tuesday, getting an image of Ganesh.
Lots of you have tats, so any tips/tricks for care and for during the tattoo?

I regret mine, done by a very untalented guy I got drunk and he said hed do it for 5$. I had saw other tattoos he had done and they looked fine, not amazing, but not bad.

Well lets just say some of the shading looks like a child scribbled circles....

lol that was some negative advice in the first post. I have lots of tattoos in random places. I get a new one about once a year to keep things fresh. Just make sure your going to a reliable tattoo artist with lots of experience. Make sure you absolutely can imagine having that image permanently on your body for your entire life. Its not all that painful as some people might lead on, It hurts very little. May I ask what you intend on getting? :bigjoint:

My only advice would be get it somewhere where you can always cover it up if you want to. I got one on my chest when I was 16, it was a really really stupid mistake. But I have one on my hip that I don't mind at all because I can always cover it up. I have one on each wrist that I regret (again because people can see them), one on my palm that I don't mind because most people don't notice it unless i'm talking with my hands too much, and then one on the back of my neck that's just a tiny star that I can easily cover with my hair.

The first one has to be a tattoo of a piece of cake, it has to.

I'm going to get one in the fall after I've gotten some color, piece of cake right on the forearm.

Ganesh because he's the god of learning and wisdom, and Hindus invoke him for success, also, they call him the remover of obstacles, and Ive always been drawn to the image, found out what it meant, and knew I wanted it.
It symbolizes kin what I want and where I am right now.
And front of my shoulder, not on my arm nor on my chest, it'd be covered even by a thick tank top, or a short sleeve would more than cover it

The artist should give you tips etc for aftercare. I have 6 tats, I use bacitrin to coat them first 2 days. Dont use a triple antibiotic like neosporin, an ingrediant will pull the ink out. After the first few days you want to keep it coated in acquaphor (sp?) for 5 or so days. It will peel like mad during that time and you dont want it to dry out, the acquaphor coating will help it from drying and getting damaged. When THAT part is over, I'd keep it moist with Eucerin, the best moisturizer (IMO) around

make sure u eat before, dont get anything out of the books, just relax and make converstaion.Use aquaphor as ointment

;-) But

just 4 you to look at, hell you may see something you like, who knows!!

lol Maybe you should get a "tramp stamp". Right above your ass, have a sign titled something like "CAUTION! Hazardous gases". I always thought that would be hysterical on a girl.
