My first Indoor Grow, all Help Appreciated

Plants seem to be doing better.. They were getting too much nitrogen.. i been checking ph and tds but must of missed a couple times... I'm also going to be starting another grow journal as i am setting up another grow in a shed I built in my backyard.. I found a 1000w switchable ballast and hydro farm hood for about $75 bucks, and it came with 2 bulbs. One MH and one HPS.. i already got the room built.. as soon as i figure out what I'm growing I will start that thread as this one is coming close to harvest in a month or so.. I gotta keep you guys entertained somehow! haha.. i will post some more pics as soon as i see some budsites on these ones...

I switched to 12/12 on the 13th, today is the 19, these pics were taken last night, since 12/12 the outside plants (the plants not directly under the light) have grown almost 3 inches! and the ones under the light have gotten alot more bushy-er, they seemed to pull out of that dark green and started to lighten up a little, they have been on a water diet.. and yes there is BUDSITES! yippie.. lol.. well there are some pics below, check em out people and let me know what ya think!

oh yeah, the plant in the middle, that small guy, or guys I should say, it was 2 plants in one, my buddies light went out, so im just flowering it.. lol.. its Big Buddah Cheese

Do my plants look like their doing okay?? (pictures 2 posts above).. a buddy of mine seen my plants and he said it looks like I might pull 2-3 oz off each one considering the size of them.. does anyone here got an estimate on yield by looking at my pictures??

Really hard to call this early on, but it's not an unreasonable estimate. With a 1000w light if you filled the room you'd be looking to be somewhere around 16oz's. Maybe 20, maybe 14, but somewhere in that general vacinity.

You say if i filled the room with plants I might get 14-20 oz?? Im talking about just the plants I have now, there is 8 of them.. Im hoping for at least 2 oz of each one.. anyone see that happening??

No, that's what I'm saying. If you have 8 plants under a 1000w light you should be aiming for about 2oz's per plant (16ozes) and that's right about where you are asking about. So I wouldn't think it unreasonable to expect that from those plants. The room size is obviously of importance, but really the key is that under a single 1000w light whether you use 20 plants or 2 plants, you should be aiming around 16 zips. You have 8 plants....8 plants x2 oz's per = 16oz's.

The plants look about the right size to delivery on that promise.

Thanks man.. and that does seem about right.. Im glad with 16 oz if I get that.. very glad.. hey Laserbrn go check out my Grand Daddy Purple Shed Grow.. I just got some GDP clones yesterday and planted them.. today they are looking a little droopy since the light went off.. im on 18/6 light schedule.. but the clones I got arent very big should I be on 24 hour lighting since they are so small??

The plants are looking good, and keep growing like friggin crazy, the Super Grape Apes are the only small a bushy ones and they look awesome, the White Widows look tall and skinny.. I dont know if these gals are gonna produce that much but this is my first indoor grow and I do not know (what do you guys think?? ) plenty of pictures below took about 5 min ago, The blue berry kush and vanilla kush look good too and have signs of budsites, but they look like the white widows, tall and skinny, I don't know but I hope these tall ones produce something..

I now realized that I must have Vegged these gals too long, (I got the clones on Dec.4, they were already 20-30 days old, and I vegged em til Jan. 13) so more then 2 months VEG!! anyways, there is pics below, This is start of week 3 of flowering for these gals, and they are showing signs of budsites everywhere.. How much longer do you guys think before Ill be hacking these down??


Oh yeah.. and someone was telling me something about 3 days darkness before harvest.. anyone heard of it? can it harm my plants? I was thinking of trying it
This will be my first indoor harvest so im anxious! lol

Everything is looking splendid bro. Couldn't tell ya how long you have till harvest though. Keep checking those trichs!!! I also am of no help concerning the period of darkness before harvest. I've heard many growers swear it increases trichs/thc. I've also heard many say it does nothing except delay harvest a few days. Couldn't hurt to try it though bro! Good luck! I'm excited for the chop.

not neccisarly, some trichs go from clear to white when ready, others go from white to clear, others to from clear to amber....

what you Need to look for, is the change... so long as your inspecting your trichs daily
you will see them mature and then change over to their fully mature state just before starting to degrade, amber is usually a sign its gone past its peak and thc has started to degrade into cbd/cbn

well it seems youve got a ton of help from alot of people so far, but if youve got any questions im happy to help with the knowledge i have

and no, definitely do not exceed the timers ratings... Go find a timer thats rated for 15a @ 120v it needs to be a grounded timer, and try to avoid the digital ones, all the cheap ones lose programming often. Mechanical = never fail. (im presuming thats what your ballasts are set to use is 120v)

always check that they are grounded timers when you buy it, i just bought one that i cant use, lame

this is a really good answer too,

i think your gonna be suprised how much the flowers stack too, maybe next time just try to keep thestretch down on the taller ones,

right now, after you read this, go take a pair of scissors to the bottom foot of thos plants dude, they are gonna get robed of light in like 3 more weeks, and then rob the tops to survive =) just sayin, but in he end they are your plants,


best way IMO, only a janky opinion tho, is to keep them as short as possible, i wulda trained them or something, but your still gonna have bud no matter what, ho good they do is really UP TO THE GROWER not the light, but your doin GOOD so far JUST dont give em TOO MUCH LOVE, more plants die from love(a lil extra) than negligence..

Wow, these gals sure are bushing out and budding up quite nice!, Ive been hitting them with some "Grandmas" molasses and some tiger bloom, I know I should stop giving them nutes close to harvest, but I'm not exactly sure on when to stop, do you guys thinking Im getting close to backing off on the nutes??
