personally I let my plants to go to sleep as they always do and then I shut down the light timer and chop it the day after.. so it gets between 12 and 24 hours of darkness. I tried the 48 hours on one of my previews grows and havent noticed any difference, it even looked more "tired" than any of my other harvests. but you know.. to each his own. for your question, yes people do that with autos too.

As usually, thanks for sharing your experiences. I'll stick do 24 (maybe 36) hour of darkness to this one and will have 48 hour of darkness for my Northern Light. Damn, it's getting real close now! Hard to believe I'm nearly there!
By the way, based on your experience: what would you guess the yield will be based out of the pictures?
Personally, I think I'll get something around 15 grams.

Yeah, I could easily grow two plants in here I think. After my next grow I'll experiment with 2-3 plants in here using 0.3 gallons Air Pots.

Just trying to help you out here... is that your Ona gel inside the cab to the right of the plant? I've heard that deodorizing gels inside a grow room will kill the taste and smell of bud, and replace it with the scent of the gel. So if you got fresh linen gel, you'll probably be smoking some fresh linen tasting buds that smell like fresh linen too.
