Good point. I'm saying that if the person had to turn to religion to obtain a sense of "life" then what does it matter if someone like jocko thinks its actually draining their lives? The person had no feeling of life before so what does it matter how they got their life? If the person can obtain a "life" without religion then cool for them.. But the people that chose religion want that life and are actually gaining life not having it sucked away... I just didn't feel like going into detail.
they are not gaining life they are gaining something someone has created for a substatute for life .
Do you know what the point of an argument dude? It is to learn something and gain some useful knowledge. We argue to se what is right (not who is right) so someday we won't have to argue about this stuff anymore. We also argue to get good points across to people who didn't see those points prior to the argument.

like i said religion is something that is taught to you , you would have no idea of a god unless it was taught to you .
I sent myself out on a quest to find the meaning of life when I was 15. I rode my bike to the church across my old neighborhood. It fucking sucked there... But they did have many great lessons that honestly give me a reason to live. Honestly, without what I've learned from religion, I would have blown my brains out years ago.
what about the hatred that is taught in the bible , you say it like religion is all love and [eace when anyone who has actually read the bible knows its full of hatred .
Which makes me curious as to who and why the first person thought of god or why so many of our ancestors tried so hard to worship whatever god they believe in.. You may say out of fear, but many ancient religions didn't follow a "hell" and their god was actually very peaceful.
I didn't say it wasn't full of hatred.. I said that I took the good because only the good gave me reason to live. Yeah that's called cherry picking and it goes against Christianity but I do it anyways because I am free and I chose to do that. If I was really forced to follow religion then I would be a all time truth telling, non stealing, completely love filled virgin... But I'm not even though Christianity tells me so.
how come you rode your bike to a church and not a mosque ? was it conveinience or was it pre drilleed into your fragile mind by your peers ?
I've been to many mosques before... The reason I didn't ride my bike to one is because there was none around my house.
