How can you POSSIBLY believe that this is true?

The top 5% of wage earners paid 58.66% of the total Federal Income Tax Revenue in 2009.

How is that the top earners can be paying what you are claiming and make up for 58.66% of the income tax revenue?

I am not saying I pay more total dollars. What I am saying is my total % of income which goes to the tax man is way more than a billionaire's total % of income. Which in effect makes each dollar I make worth less than each of a billionaire's dollar.


And duh if he makes more his bill is going be more. But taxes are on a curve for a reason. And its to keep the poor poor and the powers powerful.

It is absolutely worth more cause he does not pay the same tax per dollar like I said dollar for dollar he pays less tax. Hence he keeps a higher % of his dollar after taxes.
 
Don't get me wrong I do not say take anything from anyone. I do not think the rich should pay for people who exploit the system and never have a job but are able to work by anymeans. Just that we all should pay the same percent. It costs the same to protect us why should I have to pay more per dollar. My family is in the 80k per year range. In Detroit area so that should prove that I'm not a freeloader.

Well, I don't think you would see such absolute opposition to increasing taxes if we could see REAL cuts and reformations. 35% of all wages paid in 2009 where paid to welfare and disability recipients. Does that sound like fraud to you? Wouldn't you expect that number to be closer to 2%?

The 1% include people making 343,000 dollars a year and up. If you confiscated 100% of all of their profits you still would not be able to cover the amount the government is overspending on the budget.

Now, if you have any grasp on reality you will understand that there is no way they can tax the 1% that much. That means they have to come after the money from everyone else including you.

Yet you still listen to the news and blame the rich guy....

Taxes are on a curve because government makes profit a sin. They play class warfare games. Why is there a tiered tax rate? Is that somehow fair? I make more so the government gets a higher percentage of my labor?
 
Fantastic. The stupidity continues. I didn't realize that the idea was to see how much economic harm they could cause. It's fuckin' idiotic to believe that by shutting down ports you are harming large corporations, you're also hurting small business' including truck drivers who are paid to move goods and ALL of the people who's jobs rely on a dependable supply chain. I work in distribution and while it seems obvious I can assure you that a greant number of those that will be harmed if something like this occurs are small businesses and individuals.

i work in the shipping dept of an international animal health supply company. We don't have a LOT of int'l business but this blockade would affect the many ORM-D items sent to Alaska and Hawaii by barge.

i see what they are saying but i don't think they have thought through the consequences of their actions.

Can't see this ending in any pretty way.

you piss off enough "dock workers" and pretty soon they themselves will go screaming to the 1%. just to get them to stop all this. which they won't. which will piss off the dock workers who well them walk out themselves.
