Should the ballast be plugged into the wall with the timer connected to the ballast and then the light connected to the timer? This way there wont be any surges when it switched on and off because it will always be on, only the light will be switching.
Or is it a better idea to have the timer in the wall and the ballast in the timer to switch the entire ballast off when the timer switches?
