I've thrown 8 clones in my grow room straight into 12/12 I'm not expecting a lot just thought I'd try it not a lots happening i think they might be in shock
ok bro thats good advice. Im going to do that then. thanks!yep yep. for at least two weeks. until the flowers really start to show you know. not just little hairs. this is the stretching period where the plant needs the most N it can get.
So are we testing clone flowering or diminishing light schedule?Idea:
Is to test the final yeild of a plant that is cloned during flowering (1 week into it). The clone is put into a jiffy pod. The jiffy pod is inside a dome. Look at my pictures. The dome is placed inside the flowering room. It will root under flowering schedule and put directly into a 5 gallon bucket with nutes. No veg cycle. Direct to flower. But here is the catch. The light schedule is starting at 11on - 13 off. In 2 weeks the lighting is reduced by half an hour. 10.5 on - 13.5 off. Every 2 weeks we drop the light by half an hour. I will then test the yield. (A typical yield for me is 45grams dried weight to 75grams dry weight per plant using 18/6 to veg and 12/12 to flower. But I never had this much CFL lights before lol)
Info:
3 cuttings taken. 1 Burmese kush. 1 mandala#1, 1 NYC diesel. ( there are actually 4 cuttings but one will leave the room in case this lighting schedule doesnt yield well.) Clones are in a JIFFY POD. I applied rooting hormone to each cutting. 42watt 6500K CFL bulb hangs above them.
Nutrients:
General hydroponics. Plants are currently on Flora series( grow, micro, bloom). First week of flowering was 50ml of each. Second week I start
FloraGro- 0
FloraMicro-50ml
FloraBloom-100ml
and I will continue that schedule for 4 weeks. Im really just using the nutrient calculator here http://www.genhydro.com/calculator/index.html. Ive used other nute schedules but this is my favorite.

Lighting is CFL bulbs:
6 x 42watt 6500K
6 x 26 watt 2700k
2 x 105 watt 6500k
Total light 618watts (plus 42watts for the clones)
Veg cycle: 18/6
Buckets have air stones and full of water with nutes. Simple bubbler.

CFLs are way cooler than HPS....way way way less heat, but less of the light produced is able to be used by the plant at the given time when compared to HPS or MH, So they use less electricity and also output a different light spectrumI'm not sure about this but I think 600w CFLs produce more heat than 600w HPS. They just use less electricity for lights, so more goes to heat waste.
for flowering from clone, I would think even 1gl would be enough, but you can go with 1.5-2gl if you wanna be on the safe side I guess.
Sorry for splitting this up...no good with lists...lol. Anyway, HPS get super hot so you don't want them too close, really let the bulb stay on for a bit and then put your hand above the top of the plant and then move the light as close as you can to your hand until you feel alot of the heat, if you feel like your hand is burning it will be too close to the plants. I don't know if that made any sense at all...but I mean well...loldo you guys think I should raise the clones higher so they are closer to the light? I never grew with hps before.
testing the affects of a diminishing light schedule on a clone thats placed into it.So are we testing clone flowering or diminishing light schedule?
can the clones be as close from the light as an adult plant?Sorry for splitting this up...no good with lists...lol.
