Yes, Atomizer recommended using netcups loosely filled with cut up chunks of rockwool (about 1cm chunks I believe). Water the rockwool to keep it moist until the roots exit and can take in the mist. Cultilene brand is supposedly the best as their manufacturing process makes their wool less apt to getting mushy.
Any tank should be pre-charged with air 2psi less than your CUT-IN pressure, that ensures the last drop of nutes comes out pressurized. In my case cut in is 110 psi, and I precharged it to 108psi. My pressure switch cuts out at 140psi.

I was actually pretty stoked, because I was pretty new to the scene. I guess they've been following my stuff. From what I can tell, they exclusively use other people's material. Naw, that cheese was all me, lol. They copied it right from youtube description. I was a little excited, and being my second system, it sounded clever at the time. Mind you, when I started to get interested in all this, a year or so ago, there were like 4 dudes to talk to about it. Edit: 3 dudes & petflora. Atomizer, petflo, bob smith & his 90 site pvc coliseum (not suited for hpa btw) & deximus. The latter of the two, have disappeared. Bob smith posted a link to cavadge's thread before he left (very nice), and TF was around, but doesn't seem to chime in unless he feels like you're well on your way. It was alot harder to come about info then, for sure. Since the dawn of this thread, there have been so many people getting on board with hpa, it's crazy. This is a good thing. I really want to see hpa become accepted among the grow community as a legit style of growing, that when done properly, can out-perform the best DWC/F&D/NFT system out there. It may seem shallow, but after all the shit I've gotten from people saying I'm wasting my time with these complications, I really want to set the record straight, and prove that there is no better/more efficient way of growing than this. I ramble. Anyway, my cuttings should be able to go into my rig in a week or so. It's about time!
Ah ok sounds good and thanks. Hopefully in the next several weeks I can get some movement on a working unit. I will only be growing veggies in it for now but I think that should give me some solid feedback and experience on the concept. this thread has been very helpful and I think we're on the edge of making HP more widely accepted and useable. I mean I look at it like this; if the system doesn't perform well enough to merit the use of HP over a form of hydro, I will still have an awesome hydro unit to use when done.

I know man, I have been just as hyped on HPA myself... I agree and hope many join us, as the more the merrier, and the quicker our joint knowledge and experiences will better the method as a whole. BTW- have you or anyone heard from Atomizer? I don't know if he got offended, was tired of mentoring all us hpa newbies, is just busy in his life, or if I should worry about him that something bad happened? Last month he did mention this time of year he focused his attentions on some other hobbies, but I thought it was slightly strange he just dissappeared without a clue. Of course I am always cognizant of the HPA void that eventually sucks everyone in, where they never seem to return from. But he seemed to have been able to resist it's powers for many years already...
Mech said he'd post his weight and pics here when he was done harvesting, but if you can't wait you can go to GC

Okay, my roots were really starting to look okay, and getting some fishboning, and sparse fuzzyish areas- was gonna take some pics for an update, and then- disaster strikes! Hehe, well not really- but I pulled the plant up for my daily ritualistic root check (still able to pull it out rather than having to look through the viewing door), and the darn plug pulled right out of the netpot and all the roots came through it and the netpot just fell off! Anyway, I tucked it all back in, but there was no way to thread the roots back out of the netpot again, so there all bundled up inside and I hope not too damaged. If I had been able to use the rockwool chunks this would have been a non-issue, but the little soil plug that came with my cutting was not ideal as I've mentioned before. Hopefully they'll just take right back off from where they are and start growing back out of the netpot again.
I also have been thinking alot about how Atomizer mentioned the pod will closely track the nute temps, but I also wonder if the lack of good insulation, and direct sunlight in my setup will throw a wrench in that. I figured there was only one way to find out, so this morning I ran some clear vinyl tubing all along the JG line that surrounds the pod heading to the solenoids and misters and ran it, and the JG line through some new thicker walled and wider diameter foam pipe insulation - so it's like a cooling conduit. I turned the chiller down to 32 degrees ( of course I am just experimenting and will likely not run it this cold eventually) and am now letting the water recirculate. I figure the water moves slowly enough through the lines to allow it to cool off before each misting. I will keep track of my pod temps and see if this makes a good difference. I hope to eventually find a better means to keep the pod cooler, because the chiller uses a fair amount of electricity... Another temporary test I'm planning is to cover the top of the chamber with foil so it will be similar to reflectix (if it makes a good difference I'll pop for the real thing). I'll update this evening on what difference if any is made from the chiller mod. And then tomorrow try the foil...

Sorry to hear about the net pot ordeal, hopefully everything is ok.
I don't know how the soil temps are for you but perhaps it's readable to run 20' of line underground and use the soil temps to cool it for you. I know hear in the northeast the soil stays 50 degrees several feet down year around.
Got some more goodies in today, which I think is half the fun.

I have been cooling my nutes to 40 degrees, and it hasn't even changed my chamber temps more than a single degree lower, if even that! I decided today I will build a framework around my pod out of 2x2's and sheet it with some thicker styrofoam from home depot. I plan to line the interior with reflectix not only for insulation, but to also block out light, as I am going to also add a removeable top about 20 inches tall filled with cfl lights and a fan and exhaust port so I can throw it on for a couple weeks during veg. I will run a bunch of drip tubing (but without holes) spiraling tightly around the interior walls, and recirculate cold water from my chiller through it to keep the pod 70 degrees or so. If I'm up for the work, I'll just put the lighted top on before sunset and remove it again in the morning, so I can use as much free natural light as possible, but get some proper vegging in for a couple weeks. Then once they're ready, I'll stop using the top and let the 12/12 daylight here do it's thing.
I also did a test of all the different cloud tops misters and the red ones are best. In a side by side comparison to the biocontrols there was no competition, the cloud tops were much better, and I'm sticking to the idea I got a bad batch of biocontrols- heck one of them shoots a squirt gun style stream of water 8 feet straight out, definitely not right. I'm going to order enough red ones to fill my chamber, and I'll also test the purple dig nozzles Mike and now r0m are impressed with. I think with new nozzles, climate control, and vegging lid, I will finally have the ultimate setup- so I'll keep posting the progress once I can manage blowing a few more bucks on my new expensive hobby...
I must say it has been bringing me great pleasure and enjoyment...
