Looking At the Real cost of pot

What if the former is in fact the latter bit simply with the desire to do good things as opposed to make good money? ;) And $300 an hour, i wouldn't have that amny expectations for that lawyer :p
So your saying find a highly skilled lawyer that went to law school and worked his ass off for the simple pleasure of being a lawyer? Ummm, yeah that is not how the world works typically. You watch the OJ trial? You think OJ ever asked "how much is this going to cost..I'm on a budget here"

I don't have much vested in this thread, but since you brought it up, let me tell you this..IF you ever need a lawyer for any reason, you better ask around and find out who the best lawyer is for your situation. Cost should not figure into the equation. I learned this extremely valuable lesson the hard way. Went through a divorce, spent 4k and watched my kid get moved to the other side of the country for 3 years and I saw him 3x a year. She came back for the summer, I spent 17k on the best lawyer in the city, and guess what, the court said "you're here, you and that kid are going to stay here". Her attorney didn't even know what fucking hit him.

Hearing that, and seeing my son every week is worth 10x that amount.

Well I just did a non-scientifc breakdown of what my costs are.

I live in a cheap electric state (.06 kwh)
I grow mostly organic, all amedments bought in bulk except guanos (usualy 50lbs at a time).
Some but not much stuff in bottles (clonex/Humbolt Honey Extra/Great White)
Does NOT included hood/ballasts/tents/pumps/digital management system cost (up front I figure Im somewhere around 3k in on gear)
DOES include 1 1000w HPS bulb replacement per month (about my average)

I figure Im at ABOUT $27.65 per oz produced. Thats using VERY concervative harvest averages and overpricing what I really pay for most stuff so its actualy lower in reality.
BUT if you figure in my time ( I charge around $40-50/hr to do anything) the costs triple easy, more into the 100$ oz range.
Funny part the electric bill is easily DOUBLE what everything else costs me every month put together.

that type of person might not be the norm, but they exist. My father walked both paths, he helped out where he could, and then charged upward of £1k an hour for company clients. I have of late been considering a degree in law for no other reason than that i now know law to an extent and can work from there to look at helping folk not for a big income. Same reason i'd like to be head of the local council, force minimum wage to the lot of em, if you want to improve this society then lining ones pockets shouldn't be one of the goals.

This is Alaska, it is below zero most of the year. Right now it is -11 F I have 7 hours of daylight and losing 6 minutes a day.
Every single item needed for living or growing or anything at all has to be flown or barged 3000 miles to the coast then put on a train to the interior.
Electricity is over .23 dollars/kw and it is adjusted up with diesel price fluctuations.
I buy water at $.05/gallon, delivered water is three times that.

That $75/oz is an average since 1998, lights, timers, fans, tables, containers, all these things wear out with time and must be replaced. Quality items cost more.

I have 19 light fixtures, not counting the 8 spotlight CFL's. 17 fans and separate timers for all of them.
Consistant heat is a problem, as is zero relative humidity all winter.

I would love to live in California and grow almost free pot, but that is not the way it is for me.
I can't imagine living in the bush; you'd have to be making a fortune to live well. I live in Los Anchorage so, even tho we still face the same shipping issues, it's not nearly as bad as living in the interior - and the weather doesn't suck as bad in the winter. Next summer we're having a cookout if it falls on a weekend. :)

I guess I'm pretty lucky.
$20-$30 a year outdoors and about double that yearly for indoor (not counting elect.).
Electricity is about $24 a month.

It is about $15 an oz. for me to grow in electricity costs in socal. If you are getting a GDP oz. for $100 you are doing better than most. I was paying $400 an oz. for the best indoor at local dispensary. That is to say that is what they charged, never bought more than a quarter.

I recycle soil and have enough nutes to last years. Still, it took over a grand to set up my little indoor garden. I spent too much getting LED lights but otherwise I went quality and paid for it.

Thats a first .. splurge on LED lights that are "quality" .. but recycle soil .. hmm.. not trolling but whats does recycling involve.. do you recompost it or just use it again as is?

^^ I just add a little perlite, ewc, and rainbow mix flower guano and mix it up. I will run it maybe 3 times and throw it. I think you can use it forever though. I found I like the 55 watt pl-l flouro lights better than the LED and the cost is about a third.

cost me about a grand to set up 1200w air cooled system, need to spend about another £300 to get where i want and thats without the co2, just leccy costs then, and the grow house is on a standing charge, look out.

Recycling soil (organically) is the best approch to soil medium growing.
Look through the organic section up here for the full low down.
I have not bought dirt in over a year and a half.
Its part of why my costs are low and my quality is high....

now i see why some charge so much. they add equipment cost to the bud cost. so is this extra fee removed after you paid off the equipment? doubt it
man weed here on the street goes for 150 an oz and is top grade. we dont add our equipment to the cost of bud. no bizz does. just everyday operating cost./ like food and electric. not the tools to grow it
