My husband's heart was attacked by a virus and it severely damaged his heart. It left him needing a defibrillator which he received in the end of Sept. The doctors said he was a perfect candidate for Sudden Death Syndrome.

Last night it zapped him and I feel it saved his life. I feel blessed that he is my husband and doubly blessed that he received that defibrillator in time to save his life.

Please, if you or someone you love has heart issues and they are given the news that a defib might save a them sometime in the future. Do it. My husband has only had his for 42 days. If we had hesitated my husband might not be here today and I'd be picking out a coffin.

Protect and care for those you love because you just may never know when...

My son has a Vagus Nerve Stimulator in his upper chest area for Epilepsy. Before that, if he had a seizure, he'd shut down and have to hospitalized on life support...we would be there for weeks at a time. Now with the VNS, if you see a seizure coming and put a Cyberonics Magnet over the stimulator...it send little pulses to his brain and stops the seizure almost instantly, like magic. Wow, thank you. I once thought that I'd never marry, it just wasn't my style. Then he happened to my life.

I can hardly remember how my life used to be. We take our daily walk together (good for his heart and mine) around the neighborhood and we always hold hands. I think we're turning into that old couple you see in the park or in commercials. lol.

Thanks...the doctors gave him 5 years to live when he was 2, now he's almost 15 and a very happy kid. Some doctors are not cool at all saying shit like that to parents...we never went there again. Childrens Hospital in Detroit saved his life...he has a great team of doctors there.

My sister-in-laws father was a peds doctor there. Incredible man, did house calls up to the day he died. Every Christmas he'd be paged and he'd wipe his mouth, say he was sorry and he'd go. He, also, volunteered to Jackson State Prison, I don't really know what he did there, but I'm sure it made him a better man.

Well, I think we'll stay until after Christmas then head down south. The winter isn't too good for him. I can't keep the snow shovel out of his hands, so we gotta go.

Yes you are a good wife...! I myself did not feel so well a few years back, had jaw pain. I
called the oral surgeon, they said might be TMJ or something?? I let it go for weeks, then one day I felt funny, I have a blood pressure machine, so I checked it, it was 235/140.

My wife said come on were going to the hospital! I said naa, but she insisted we go.
Turns out I was having a heart attach, I had to have open heart surgery, a quintuple bypass.

had It not been for her I would have went to bed that night.... see, she is good for more the cooking and cleaning! that was at the age of 43. ya just never know...

This is was implanted in his chest. It went off in his sleep. Boy, did that wake his ass up. He said it felt like his entire body was electrified.

I know what you are talking about the defig machines that hang on the wall at school and what not. I didn't realize that they were down to $500 now.

I wish he'd be more like that. We live near a high school and the girl's track team runs in the winter and they pass in front of our house. He claims that he doesn't want them to fall down. Yeah, right! I have his number.

How old is she? I only know of one other woman with a defib. Lucky indeed. When the doctor told me how to start his heart if it stopped was frightening. Take two fists held together, raise them as high as you can go and bring them down with as much force as you can do.
