Hey pal i ve only just realised your pots are the wrong way round or is it my eyes mate the part were theres no holes are supposed to b at the top with the holes goin straight to the bottom for air circulation minor error but very costly imo !!

It looks like the nodes on the AP compared to the nodes in the traditional pot are closer together and resulted in a shorter plant? Equally as nice of course. What height will the girls be when you flower? Also another question for you, what are you working with for ventilation? Could you give a diagram or description? I'm setting up the same size tent and cool tube lamp,

I'm tossing them into the flower cab tomorrow. The plants in the smaller pots are 6"-7". The two plants in the bigger pots are both 9".

Here's the intake side. Top and bottom are both passive intakes for the tent, the one in the middle is the passive intake for the reflector.


Here's the exhaust side. Top exhaust with the bigger carbon filter is tent exhaust, middle exhaust with the smaller carbon filter is the reflector exhaust.

Made the switch to flower last night.


Here's a shot of the plant that was in the standard pot before I transplanted. You can see how it's already getting root bound.


Here's a shot of the plant that was in the Air-Pot. I wish the photo showed it better but what you have is lots of very fine roots.


Shot of the four plants in the tent. Two on the left on the green trays were the ones that started out in the bigger pots. Two on the right on the red trays are the ones that got transplanted into bigger pots. I took the smallest of the three in the Air-Pots to transplant.


For the last two, one I'm turning into a mother. It's the one I moved into the bigger pot and topped. The last plant I'm going to leave in the Air-Pot for another month or so and then crack open to see what the root structure looks like.

Hey techno, is there a reason your running with two carbon filters. Is there a reason you don't put the larger filter inside the tent, run flex from it to the light and then vent the light outside of the tent. This will save you some power. You will create a negative pressure in the tent which will automatically draw fresh air into it.

Also I read somewhere that filter manufacturers don't recommend pushing air through the filter and most fans are designed to pull air through a restriction not push through it. Youcan make the switch and check your amp draw on your fan and compare with the set up you got now. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, if you look back at post #56, you’ll see I caught that myself. The transplanted Air-Pot has the holes oriented the correct way.

Yeah, I was an idiot and built the pots with the wall upside down.

The top row on the smaller pots and the top two rows on the bigger pots aren't supposed to have any holes in them. This helps keep the water in instead of running right out the top holes. This is actually a problem I had with the smaller pots.

That's actually how I have my original cab setup. Ambient temp for the room the tent is in can get as high as 75. I wanted to have very good ventilation to make sure the temps stay under 79 degrees.

Because I'm running both fans at about 75% using a speed controller, they run a LOT quieter. Seriously, both fans at 75% are quieter than one fan at 100%. In fact the two 6" fans at 75% are about the same loudness as the 4" fan I have in the other cab that is running at 100%.

I wasn't real happy with clip on fan I was using because I couldn't figure out a way to mount it so it could oscillate. Stopped by a Target on the way home and found the perfect fan, a 31" tower. I'm thinking of sticking a second one in the opposite corner.


Since I didn't transplant these two I'm doing a nutrient flush with Fox Farms Sledgehammer. I started doing these flushes every 3-4 weeks on my last grow and I think it made a difference.

I think one of the biggest advantages to the airpots I found was the ability to grow huge plants in small pots.

I have nearly 6ft tall plants in 10L Airpots (I waited too long to flower,lol) and they're rocking and rolling, normally with 2-3ft plants in a normal pot they'd be rootbound like crazy.

You'll notice once they get established in their larger pots that you'll be able to see hundreds of tiny roots poking through the grating at the bottom.

My hydro shop sucks ass i ended up getting nursery pots becuz they didnt have air-pots in stock, they did have smart pot but i didnt like it at all...JMO...

Hey TechnoMage I got my Foothill Filter 2 days ago. It's working like a charm. This is an excellent quality filter and the best part, it's made in America. I dig this filter and It's a better filter than my Can Filter. Thanks for the tip.

Too true I got lucky at a local spot and grabbed up some 1.5 and 3.2(or 3.4?) but not too many spots have them yet I have already seen some lame knockoffs. So be sure to get air pots as the knockoffs dont have the incoming holed "spikes"

i just bought 10 of the .3 gallon air pots. i wasn't quite sure how big they were. then i found this thread. i wish i would have ordered 20 of them now! they are bigger than my standard party cups which makes them perfect! i hate having to pay $13 for shipping again to order 10 more of them!

i got a 2.4 gallon pot too. i currently have 18, 2 gallon smart pots in the flower room. i'm trying to decide if i should go with some 3 gallon smart pots (the 2 gallon are much smaller than a 2 gallon grow bag) or 3.4 gallon air pots (i haven't found any 3 gallon ones or i'd get them. i don't use paypal so no Ebay). they will only be in the larger pots for 70 to 80 days so i'm thinking the 2.4s might be just right!

Yes. The bigger one exhaust the air from inside the tent, the smaller one handles exhaust from the reflector. I realize there should be very little odor from the reflector but I figured the extra filter couldn't hurt.

i have a smaller fan and filter that i'm not using but i think i might hook it up and run it through my lights. i've been too lazy to do it but that picture got me motivated! this motivation may pass by the time the lights come back on though.

i hate those purple ballasts. i had one for my 250 watt veg light and it died on me. i started reading up on them and that has been a problem with them!

Happy to have you along for the ride. I've been very happy with my Lumatek Digital Ballast. I had the 250w for quite a while and just finished my first grow under a 400w.
