A track-hoe would complete the job in no time. They're simple to operate, and can be rented pretty cheap.
I don't think anybody (at least where I live) would question the installation of a bomb or in some cases a tornado shelter.
lol a good operator,I have seen many people jump on an excavator that did not have a clue, but they where real good on fucking the machine up fast like, even a few that put em over lmao. Side panels pushed in on big tree's,tracks ripped off because some how they got the bucket teeth wadded in there. or they try to run machine at idel all day.

Anyone can rent a back hoe to dig the trench - the kicker is how to get the container into the hole.
I recently got a 40' "high boy" placed & the damn thing weighs around 9000 lbs empty. You will need a boom truck to place it & nobody will just rent you one, they come with an operator.
Tell him the bomb shelter ploy & hope for the best?

I think thats the key. Im not a very trusting person and would find it hard to tell anyone about the set up. How did your friend get on with them under ground? Was everything going smoothly until he was ratted out? What did he do for power?
Read about it in the paper, from what i got from someone that he was putting out lb's every other week none stop once he got rolling. paper said he was cought with 100's of lbs,but we all know 75% of that is not smokable. He was a farmer so i would say he could have changed a few things that did not put a flag up.

where there is a will there's a way :) Im trying my best to eliminate the whole thing of 'hoping for the best' and 'leaving things to chance'. ie- landlords coming over, h and s etc etc.

A track hoe will lift one right up and put it in place.
container weighs for 8x40 9k a Good 20k Excavator "track hoe" will pick 12k with out a problem, If your smart and a good operator you do not need to lift ;-) prep the hole right with slight ramp and drag the bitch in.

So talking was his problem or showing of his money or dealing with 2 many buyers etc. Really stupid reasons to get caught. Imo one buyer that you trust is the only way to go with something like this and even though i trust him, he doesn't need to know that it's you growing the bud.

True, true. A lot quicker 'n easier too, without having to hook up the chains and all......

Just one person could do it...trust me on that.If you live in the counrty it could be done in a weekend long as you do not screw around.
Aye, just rent a bobcat with the excavator attachment and go to town. Borrow someones truck... maybe setup a skid to get it in there. Totally doable but - the amount of work! It would be a pretty long weekend I suspect for one person.

Yeah, I wouldn't suggest anything more than a bobcat really.... I've seen experienced operators get into jams that are NOT easy to get out of and in some cases were extremely expensive. I do not recommend someone without experience operating one of these things without fully understanding there's a chance things could go really horribly wrong. The amount of power generated by these machines is intense and the pressures of the hydraulics are very high and potentially dangerous if things don't go right.

A track hoe is just begging for problems (although you could do the entire job and lift it into the hole in no time at all).

First i will say this..only a retard would fuck up a piece of equipment. never will a good operator get an excavator in a jam....never no how .. . You can take the bob cat and play in a sand box with it.

Honestly, as much as I don't like saying this, you'd want at least one partner you can trust. Heavy machines, one person, alot of shit that can go wrong, even for the experienced. Those kind of forces it only takes a heartbeat for shit to go awry and cause a major injury. The last thing you want is to have degloved your leg, sitting there bleeding your ass off, and no one that knows where you are, and no help coming any time soon.

You've never worked on/around muskeg on blast sites I suspect ;).

Point being even an experienced operator can get into a jam if the conditions aren't what they expected. And such situations often require a lot of help.

No really... I set blast mats that weighed 20 ton each, with no fucking chain.. 45 foot faces with 35 ton excavator, run rock crusher at same time ;-) so i do have a clue..show up on job 8 am with excavator on trailer and end of day back on trailer with house lot cleared ,hole dug for foundation and site leveled for the masons.I would rather do my self then have anyone on anything that does not have a clue.
