Soler & Palau TD-200 with an 8" carbon filter.
6" Easycool reflector reduced to a cheap 4" inline on a dual timer with the lights.
Insulated hard-ducting
Firstly my budget...
...I'd like reliability.... If cheap means it'll die in 3 months, i'd rather go expensive. But if expensive doesn't mean any increase in reliability i'd obviously want to throw cheaper money at it.
Now my research:
Torn on high-end bulbs/ballast or digital greenhouse/htgsupply bulbs.
I heard you cannot tell a difference between the lights, I've seen a thread that boosted hortilux over sunmaster with pictures of higher yields with everything being the same. +1 -1 hortilux depending on whose credibility is higher.
I've heard ushio hilux gro lamps are better than hortilux, but it seems less complaints versus the latter over premature burnouts. But that could be because more people use hortilux over ushio.
Speaking of bulbs burning out, I hear hortilux's paired with lumateks burn out really quickly...Then I hear people who run both fine for a year(which is really all im hoping for out of my bulbs, more would be better of course)
Now onto the ballasts...Digi i hear ruin bulbs faster. Even from high end brands like lumatek and quantum. You'll never get a straight answer as each thread recommends different ballasts.
Not to say other brands suck, i'm just looking at these 4 in particular.
My budget isn't really an option as I can afford to go high-end. I just want longevity...I'm a do it right the first time kind of guy. I don't like to waste money on cheap products to have them die and replaced with something more money. At the same time I don't like to buy high-end if it has the same fail rate as cheaper money items.
Whatchu' all think?
