I've noticed that those here on RIU that espouse individual freedom (libertarian and conservative types) have had very little good things to say about Perry (the employment numbers are the only thing I can think of). I can say for myself that I have worked to expose his faults at every opportunity I've had.

Perry is not a conservative... He likes big government, just not at a federal level. His employment numbers are quite good as a percentage and raw numbers as well, taking into consideration Texas has experienced a surge in population, this is even more impressive.

However with that said, Perry cannot take claim that he 'created' those jobs - he just stayed out of the way enough for the private sector to create them. No politician actually creates jobs... but they can certainly destroy them.

The beauty part of the Ultra Rich choosing who to give their money to is, they get to choose which cause they want to enrich.

If it wwre me (suppose I wone a 200 million dollar lottery), Id choose to GIVE 150 million of it to Animal Rescue agencies. That would be MY choice. Some other uber rich guy might choose to give it to starving kids in Adrica. The choice is pretty much irrelevant----long as the Uber Rich GIVE substantial funding to some worthy cause.....who cares IF they are taxed or not?
