The primary role of citizen A is to create aggregate demand in the economy, it's actually by design that the poor pay no income taxes; Progressive taxation and all... And yeah, $1200/month is an exaggeration by far from my experience. My GF was on food stamps a couple years ago and got something like $70-80/month and when she was on unemployment (for only ~6 weeks BTW) she received ~$140 per week... Yeah, that's real exorbitant alright Jeff - better cut those benefits! I remember she could hardly afford her share of the bills during that time, I had to lend her money out of my savings to ensure bills were paid on time.
But government assistance for those two months or so that she needed it is just evil socialism! Fuck the poor people make 'em work more! No jobs? Too bad! Let 'em starve!
