UPDATE

Day 22 for #1
We have pistils showing baby! - Id take pics but my camera could'nt pick them up they are so small at the moment, will take shots tho asap

Im happy but the only thing that sucks, is the plants are still pretty damn small..basically means my yield is going to be small...
True but next time your confidence will be up. I think thats what scared me away from autos.. You can get a 12 incher or a 24 incher(thats what she said). You never know what pheno your seeds will be. I think next growing season my friend is going to plant like 12 of them in his backyard cause they are so stealthy. Unfortunately he knows nothing about growing so ill be doing it over the phone lol. He lives an hour away so i wont be making too many trips but he promised me half the bounty if i help. Either way growing till completion is still gonna reward you with some weed and a sense of accomplishment:)

Excellent.

If you know it's going to stay small you may want to consider throwing a few more plants under the HPS so they can veg while your auto's finish up.

very true mech very true

Paperhouse, i would but my box is actually cramped with the 2 pots i have in it, i thinking about ordering the inline fans and getting some ducting and redoing the back of the box and removing the pc fans.

Bout to water them now, going to give #1 the flower feeding and #2 stays with the veg mix

still a bit disheartened tho, neither plant is even 4 inches tall, and #1 just looks like its sickly i guess, ill snap some pics later, i loaned my cam to a friend for the day

Just throwin up some new pics, thought id take a few shots with the natural sunlight

twins.jpg
#1 has been lst'd a little to let some of the light get into the interior a bit more.
#1.jpg#1lst.jpg#1preflower.jpg#1preflower1.jpg
#2s looking good also i think, i think the reason they are both a bit short is because of the smaller short pots im using..the new air-pots are a few inches taller, i think they will work great on the next grow.
#2.jpg#2side.jpg#2stem.jpg

thanks for checkin em out :)

on a side note...my friend came over to get some nutes for his, he sprouted his a few days before mine..we are both growing the same strain, he said his is close to the sizes of mine..but his is more stretched out like a sativa is...said his fan leaves are thinner and longer than mine..and he said every single leaf on his plant only has 3 blades instead of 5
Is this rare or what?

Man i sure hope so!! I think they are looking pretty good myself, hopefully they double/triple in size during flowering id be a bit happier, but im loving the learning experience, just wish i was running a larger grow op because i really enjoy doing this just wish i got to have a little more interaction with it.
Im freakin feenin bad...for some reason its absolutely dry around here, or atleast through my contacts it is..Im dying to smoke a bowl..
theres got to be a way i can encourage the lil ones to hurry the fuck up n grow! lmao, wishful thinking i know

yeah see i was contemplating this before you ever mentioned it i just thought to myself ive been running the 18/6 and i dont know if it would end up stressing the plants more than anything..about to check out that thread right now

update: thats an interesting read..but from what i gathered at the stage im in it may be stressful to make the switch to 24/0 at this point..However i may just roll with it on the next grow, or when i get my veg box made for my indy plant ill leave it going 24/0

Those nodes are really tight for an HPS. Great job so far.
Thanks much sir! I got to agree with you, honestly im quite surprised from all the hype you hear about how HPS causes plants to be stretchy and spread out, and i have'nt seen that at all and ive been HPS from the start

Yeah your nodes look even tighter than mine grown under T5's to be honest. I should be getting my HPS in later this week. How close are you keeping yours from the tops of your plants?

Hey Hank, are you going to LST at all? Looking great so far, HPS is definitely a good choice. You'll especially love it during flowering.

Hey paperhouse, im keeping my light about 4-6 inches above the tops, not having any burn issues, but i have to keep a fan blowing between the plants and the space below the lights to keep the temps reasonable, but i think i have them dialed in now. Heres the lighting chart im using, i think it came in handy for sure because i had no idea really where i should be keeping the light at.

Napa what up my brotha! If you look you can see that im LST'ing #1, pulling her over to the far side of the pot, and have her on the left of the light, so shes going to turn and face back towards the light in the next day or two, going to leave that string on, and come in with another and pull it at a 90 then start edging it around the rim of the pot..once i have the stem when i want it and its formed the shape im looking for, im going to then pull it back across the pot. Should give me a nice bansai effect. Now this is all in theory, i have no idea if the plant is even go to grow that much more, but i think i can pull it off if it does keep growing a good bit. I'll end up with a nice even canopy off that one plant instead of just one main cola. Its all an experiment at this stage, but exciting to learn and try all this stuff for the first time.

Hey bro u probally have the HPS to close put it up to 12inches away and let them stretch alittle bit...JMO..And with autos it dont matter how much light they get but i also think 18/6 is the best so leave it where u have it..And water/ feed more than 1x a week...They need it 2 maybe 3x a week in soil just do small dose of 8oz maybe each time...And start ur nutes mix it up 50/50 for 2 weeks then just flowering nutes..JMO GL

Yeah man you can plan all you want but the plant dictates a lot of it. I always start out planning to LST it spirally around the pot, never works out lol. By the time they get tall enough to LST majorly, she's already flowering, for an auto at least.

Just curious, why do you advise him making her stretch?

Yeah i was just curious about that myself, why would i want to make her stretch? Don't take my question the wrong way, im genuinely inquisitive to this question, would stretching them give me an advantage n any way? Now the one advantage i could see coming from it would be for my LST'ing which would allow me to spread branches out a bit, but would it help me produce more buds in the end?

Yeah Napa, i had thought at first im going to spiral them around the pot, but i knew i wouldnt be able to actually do this thats why i kind of went with a more realistic goal of pulling her over to the edge of the pot, then back over across the top of the pot towards the other side..again this is all in theory of what'll even happen..I may not even have to bother if it does'nt ever get much taller.

I kind of like them being short and tight like they are tho..makes the space in my box much more manageable than i thought it would be. If they double in size through flowering they will take up about as much space as i wanted them to initially. Going to guess they will both look like little fat xmas trees, that'd be kinda sweet looking

Dont make them stretch. There is no benefits to stretching and its not going to increase your harvest. Plants stretch in flower to try and get pollenated by the wind and not to increase bud production. Harvest depends on how many internodes your working with. If you made it stretch your buds would be less compact like with cfl's. Plus you working with a 150w so the more they stretch the less penetration your going to get to the lower sites.
Light is extremely important for all marijuana plants and especially autos. If not you would flower autos with 12/12. You read that post from Ed Rosenthal on light cycles for autos. I think he knows what hes talking about and he gives scientific backing and plenty of experience:) More light equals more growth. Like we talked about though, leave em on 18/6 for this grow so you dont get any trannys lol.
To the watering advice. When watering with nutes you want runoff so salts dont build up. Dont just put a little bit here and there. You saw my girls when they were your size and i watered once a week. You want the soil to dry out a little so the roots grow down searching for water. If anything add more perlite or put a layer of perlite at the bottom of the pot.
Feeding advice is dead on. No offense Dinafem but ive never heard of anyone telling someone to make their plants stretch or saying lights dont matter to autos.
