CO2 Temp Questions

Hey guys I'm new here to Rollitup and excited about sharing and learning. I have a high pressure setup and I just bought the CO2 to try out. Yes it's a 125psi., not some sprinklers lol. I have the Sentinel CHHC-4 ordered with the fuzzy logic....will be here Monday.

My question: I know that you can run a little higher temps with co2. I checked my temps with no a/c on and they stabilize around 86 degrees. What is ideal for "enrichment" applications? With lights off it sits at 76 degrees.

Small Issue: I'm using my portable a/c as the dehumidifier because it wont fit in the tent. This was fine when I kept it at 78.....the a/c constantly ran overcoming the humidity with cooler, dryer air. Now it seems that it wont run at all or very very little since my temps can be higher. I also didn't want to exhaust trying to contain smell. Not sure what to do about this because there is no floor space left in my 4'x4' tent. I thought about a small thermoelectric dehumidifier....I think this is a peltier cooler of some sort and not sure if it will remove enough moisture. I can drill a hole in the drain tank and rig a bulkhead fitting with drain hose to any size dehumidifier. Anybody try one of these yet?

86 is perfect for co2 enrichment sends the plants stomata into overdrive making them wanna perspire more so they breath more co2 just make sure you got a co2 monitor holing the co2 ppm around 1500ppm-1650ppms work best I MO . 2100-2300 ppm is toxic for plants little FYI.

Also try not to have more then a 10 degree drop between night and day time stresses the plant a bit which leads to stretching. Enjoy

I was reading something on this a while back...CO2 is absorbed through Stomata (LINK) and a CO2 enriched environment will force open more stomata (as will high humidity) and with more stomata open, the plant will transpire more and allow for higher room temperatures. It was a study on CO2 enrichment for greenhouse growing, they said that 85 is the ideal temperature for maximum CO2 uptake, although plants can only uptake so much CO2 before they start forcing their stomata closed. Pretty interesting stuff IMO!

I looked at charts and it seems to pretty much keep the co2 perfectly at the desired level, whereas the timers or the 1,300ppm on and 1,500ppm off controllers kind of suck. The chart shows they overshoot and then go below....they have to to actually set off the sensors. I'm too much of a perfectionist for this type of approximate control range.
Still tossing around ideas about controlling my humidity. No floor space left. Will hardly need my portable a/c (which was my dehumidifier) with this co2 enrichment.

I had the CHHC-4 for about 14 months now awesome piece of equipment way worth the money Can leave the grow op alone for longer periods of time now with a little less worry which is always nice on long school days.

I always had nothing but bad experiences using ac as the dehumidifier. Went out bought a 75pint dehumidifier haven't been happier. But since you got no floor space hmm You can buy a bunch of Damp Rid's extra large hehe not sure how efficient that would be tho.

I could probably squeeze this with a drain hose or something. Has to work better than just a damp rid I would think. I guess worst case scenario I could use a little dehumidifier like this and then dial the temp in at like 82 so at least the a/c would kick on helping to dry the air out. I read on the CHHC-4 manual online that you can lock the a/c and dehumidifier to the same function or have it separate. Will have to experiment some when she comes in That's part of the fun for me!

Make sure you calibrate it first. Very important takes a few min well the longer you get it calibrate the more accurate it will be i just left the probe outside over night. The unit might come off a lil intimidating at first shit load of control's. You can even interlock them But its simple just make sure to read the instruction. I didnt read it till bout a month and a half of having and and when i finally did found out a bunch of cool other functions it had.

I really dont think that will make any difference in your RH %

I dont think the dh your posting the link to is big enough. When in your dilemma Iv just resorted to removing a plant to make space,,, but you cant do that with your system eh.?. Could you possibly mount a larger dh above the light and plants on auto drain? Def dont want a room full of moldy buds.
Iv been using the ppm 2a fuzzy logic and love it keeps the ppm within like 20 ppm.

Guess I'll be cutting a hole in the side of my tent and duct taping a dehumidifier in there then. Could just set it on something and belly it up to the side. I already have a couple different patch jobs going on so no sweat making another hole. I just need to use one that has the intake and output on the same side.

The spending never ends . All was fine with no co2, now I got co2 and my dehumidifier wont be sufficient....need a separate one. Just after investing $850 dollars in controller, bottle and regulator

This is why I don't think it will fit. Hell maybe I could squeeze one in between the trash cans in the middle but not sure if it will hurt blowing directly on the ladies. What do you guys think As far as ceiling space I got my vented hood with fan, muffler, and other side is fan carbon filter can. No space left up there either.

omg how many gallons are those trash cans? Way way overkill if you ask me. You could get by with just one (still overkill) and scrog that lady to fill the entire 4x4 area and you would have room below for a 15 pint or so dh.
Dont get me wrong lol Im the last person to be telling someone what their doing is overkill, looks great, but honestly you could fill that entire room with 1 trash can 1/2 that size. jmo

Theses are 20 gallons that are only like 2 foot high. I think this should actually be perfect. I can take them out to work on and give them a spin every few days to make them all bend back and forth chasing the light. I have almost 4 foot to the light when raised and I could get more if needed by hanging the light from a board higher up. I want the correct root zone and this should do it form me. We shall see. I got nice roots in a 53 gallon tote but it was too short and had 3 plants. Way too crowded and too many nozzels. I never saw any hairs. Became cumbersome trying to trim and foliar spray too. Now I think this is the ticket. The co2 should kick it into overdrive too.

Damp rids did not work for me and my sealed environment it only brought the RH down 1% - 2%, I use a spare bedroom so my central AC brought the RH down to 30%. That humidity in flower is going to be tough to fight off without AC or a dehumidifier.

Oh and I used 2 of those hanging closet damp rids and 2 of the liter cups of damp rid and it really didnt bring down the RH at least when growing hydro.
