Round 2: Extrema & El Monstre DWC Cooler Scrog

Thanks. I try my best to keep my rez temps between 63-67.
I was just saying that while I'm gone on vacation I am not gonna stress it if the rez temp gets to 75 or so.
Nothing I will be able to do about it.
Not gonna buy a chiller. My cooler works fine but when it is 110 outside then it is a little harder to keep temps down that low.

I'm kind of lucky as I spend what I want on my grow, wife would kill me if she knew how much. I don't spend my money on much else so the garden gets it. Not everyone want's all kinds of equipment because the more you have the more to break down. So I have a few things monitored and can check in with my cell phone and have a look, still shit bricks when I am away, always thinking did I turn the ro system off, what if the AC dies, what if the pump goes,LOL lots to go wrong when growing this way, have a good trip and all will be fine when you get back. Really makes me think how easy my organic grow was.

I think she will be fine while I'm gone, but I bet she will be glad to see me when I get back. Lol!

Down to my last 1/4 of El Mon. Gonna have to buy some soon for the first time in like 3 months. That sucks!
It will be nice to smoke on some different bud though. Another 8 weeks until I harvest.

I got the El Mon seeds from Sannies. I think they are offered as freebies only when you order different seeds.
The big budz on this lady are coming soon! They are approx 6-8 inches above the screen now and getting bigger each day.
I'm looking for them to double that size & then start packing on some weight around weeks 7-9.
I don't know about a grow manual. It is in the hands of the grower. Even with the best manual in the world some people still can't grow.

The last batch of seeds I got from Sannies I asked for NYCDxCoco, 2 out of 5 came up so hope I get one of each. I have not seen the ElMon for a while.

I got my Killing Fields F3 from Sannie, and he threw in some jackhammers as well. i love the guy, the beans were here in under a week from ze deutcheland

I have not ordered seeds from anywhere else but Sannie.
I have had 100% germination rate so far.
But I am 0 for 4 with females and the Extrema.
I sent cash in envelope so it took 2 weeks to get there and 2 weeks to get back to me.
Not too bad and I didn't have to use a debit card. Can't beat it with a stick.

Starting to get sticky and trichy!
The tops of my roots look waterlogged cuz I have had the water level up over the pots to see how they will respond to the high water level.
Imma fill the cooler to the top when I go on vacation.
Roots go all the way to the bottom of the cooler so she should be fine.
If you notice from the pics.
When training to the screen I placed my main stem budz on the outer perimeter of the screen.
These budz will be my bigger main budz and the inner budz and growth will get the direct light and should catch up hopefully to make a more even canopy.
If you put the bigger budz in the middle of the scrog then the smaller budz will get no light.
I am very pleased with the way this lovely lady is coming along!!

Looks real good, node spacing is great and how you train makes lots of sense. You could hook up an auto feed for about 25$ than no worries about running out of food. Have a great vacation.

What are you using for air stones?

What do you mean by an auto feed? I am using a 4 inch disk and a 4 inch micro pore stone. They seem to give me plenty of bubbles.

I have a 45 gal top off raised 20" above my regular res., a tube goes from the top up to the regular res and goes into an auto level float. Never worry about running out. Slick here is the main part and you can get the hose from Hommer depot. You will need a fitting to tap the raised res.

Noice. I have been thinking more and more about integrating some dry ice into my res.. It would keep temps down, it wont float on the surface and damage the roots, and it releases c02.

Its going to be pretty cool if it all works out.

Sounds like a plan. I had thought about the dry ice also. But I wasn't gonna put it in my main rez.
Thought about putting it in an external rez that way it replinishes with cooler water.

Wood: I haven't been to Lowes or Home Cheapot yet but I went to Wal-Fart and looked around a little bit.
All I seen was a toilet bowl float valve. I don't wanna put anything that big in the rez.
The valve in your pic looks like you tapped into your rez. I don't wanna have to tap into my sport cooler.
I don't mind tapping an external rez and finding a way to hold the float in the rez somehow.
I'm gonna look around at Lowes today and see what I can find.
I'm sure it won't be hard to rig up once I get in mind how I wanna do it.
How do you keep the water in your external rez cool and oxygenated?

She is frosting up nicely. I still have not changed my rez since switching to 12/12.
I add an ice tray full of ice daily to the rez and add ice water to the rez every 2-3 days.
Nutes get added in weekly. I add the small dose of nutes to the ice water and pour it in.
I am doing this because my nutes are very low and I don't wanna have to buy some more right now so I am stretching these.
My lady does not seem to mind. She seems to be alot happier than her mother was in Round 1.
My tallest bud is 10 inches above the screen as of now.
They should get a little taller then start packing on some size!!
Ahhh, I love watching these beautiful budz thru their growth cycle.

You can use the same float assembly that goes in a furnace mount humidifier. The part comes complete all you do is drill a hole and put it in connect the hose than put in the res, if you don't want to drill a hole in your top up res just attach the tube to a cup and drop in. unhook the hose at the valve and suck till you get water than attach and your go to go with a gravity feed. Make sure it's higher than you plant res soit does not back drain. VERY important!

You can attach the float to any sturdy plastic peace you got lying around and clamp to res.

I keep the res in the room with the plants as it is air conditioned and have 2 air stones in the res. I also have a 1/2 hp chiller for the system so temp is not an issue for me in the top off res. I keep everything at 62.
