ya once the branches start holding weight it eliminates the chances of breaking branches! a few years back i learned that lesson, i had a lavender plant that had a branch with id say a qp of weight on it that broke and by the time i noticed it the next day it wasnt salvageable... every year after that i use netting... this year will be my first for the plastic trellis but i hear its the SHIT!!

Ya all the videos online that i've seen with monster plants like yours and mine all use that trelis stuff.

Last year i ran strings back and forth all over my whole garden to hold up the branches. Shit was hellla ghetto and it was had to walk around in it, it was like a fucking spider web of strings.

That trelis shit looks like a must have.

Yeah, it's on my must have list.

I'm gonna make a tool to help put it on.

I've seen a picture of one online. Kinda like a pitchfork made from PCV, about 3' wide.

I'll try to find a picture.

if you go back to pg3 post #19 theres a pic of them after i put the boxes together, and page 4 you can see how i fill my boxes... i love using them it contains the main root area for water/feeding and also lets them stretch through the screen at the bottom into the ground letting them grow big!

what are the temps running about there?

thanks
today my thermometer outside says 96 degrees! its a lil toasty!

This evening im gunna give the girls a watering and then spray the last remaing 5 that i didnt spray yesterday with spinosad and then start putting up the horto-trellis!

I saw how you set it up, you dug into the earth and made the bed above ground with the boards. So you plant the plant in the bed made of the boards, the roots develop there and the hole under is an open space where the roots hang free. This last part is what is confusing, can you please clear it up? thanks

where i live, it gets to those temps also and sometimes a bit higher, in the 100's sometimes if not most of the time! do you think that will affect plant growth? I finally transplanted on plant into the ground today and its height was about 8 inches... how much more do you think it will grow?

Sorry for all the questions, i just a newbie trying to learn from the pros...

i appreciate your help

Yes in the box the roots grow nice and strong, as they get bigger they continue to grow into hole. In my area its known to get well over 100. a couple weeks ago it was 100-105 for a week straight! plants loved it! from the month of may they got well established and by the time it was in the triple digits they are strong enough to handle it!

i planted a clone off my nevilles haze like 3 weeks ago now its almost 3ft tall already! days are getting shorter but you still might get a little something out of it!

And thanks for the compliment but Im not a pro man, im just a guy whos went through alot of trial and error, and Im the type that learns from my mistakes. even with this garden i have a few things i feel like i failed and i will correct next season.

Awesome bro, and i do think you are a really good grower! I wish i could get plants like that, but i think i will for next season... With your advice and others help, i think i will be able to pull it off. One more question, is the hole in the ground empty or filled with soil? Sorry if it sounds dumb, but i m a noob, lol! well i do have one querkle that i am vegging under 18-20 hours of light and that one seems to be growing really fast and tall. What i dont know is if i should top it or just let it grow because of the time of year already, what do you think i should do? The one i put into the ground already is looking really happy, when i transplanted it the bottom of the plastic pot, the soil was all muggy and smelly, i aint using those pots no more!

I really appreciate your help and wish you the best in your grow this season.. thanks bro.

yes the hole that i dug was refilled with 50/50 native and amended soil, then i put the screen down then the box on the screen then i fill the box then plant! the screen is just to protect the main root zone from gophers... if the little fuckers didnt burrow all over my yard i wouldnt use the screen.
as for your plant i would just let it go, this late in the season it would stunt the plant growth. last year i took a cuttings late in the season and the small plant never ripened fully becuase it was so behind in growth do to being stunted from the pruning stressing it out.... so id let her be and you will be fine...

Say bro, i really appreciate your help and priceless advice... I had thought about not topping it because of the stress as well, thank goodness i said i was going to top it on Sunday! Good thing i aint got gophers here, id shoot them with my .17 HMR...

thanks bro, and happy growing!

Nice job bro!

Hoppy, I bought a 300' roll from 'Agriculture Solutions' online. They have good prices, but it's been over a week & it's isn't here yet. But I do have a tracking #.

Good luck bro.

Thanks for the post! That's the stuff i need.
I don't frequent Hydro shops but I guess I need to check a couple out to see if they carry it. Anyone know where to get it elsewhere?

Thanks,
Hops
Someone put up a link in one of these threads, I clicked it and it said "out of stock until Sept 15th" . May be tough to get now.
Good Luck, Let me know what you find!
