just as this post is irrelevant. we dont know, we only know some of the horror stories and some of the positive stories. i am not saying anything as to the validity of her statement, only that it is totaly irrelevant.

slavery was a worldwide pox on all peoples houses. currently its still a plague on certain black african society and arabic society. they are the only two who still currently own slaves.

and if you read and follow the forefathers words, they clearly were looking to eventualy try to elliminate the practice. many said it was an abominal practice. basically it was a black and white christian movement that lead the charge to abolish it.


but as i will say again, it has no relavence to the discussion in todays terms. but the social programs of the sixties should be front and center argument and i think conservatives could make a very good argument and win the issue

How about mentally ill people that have no family, not much of a choice if all you can do is pickup bottles because your incredibly mentally handicapped, or physically handicapped and on your own. A social worker will place you in public housing. That is what public housing is mostly mentally or physically handicapped, sometimes you don't notice it because things like bipolar disorder its not always obvious and also undiagnosed mentally ill people are there also.

the people in public housing arent caged into the building. they are free to go when they want. they choose not to because the alternative is living on the streets for most of them.

i have no idea where they lived before they got public housing. it changes on a case by case basis.
even if they lived in their own house before, if they lost their job, theyd either be on the streets or in public housing. which do you think they will choose? which do you think is better for society?
should we forget about them and let them whither away in the streets? creating more crime, only to go to jail, where we pay for their housing anyways?
or should we help them out with some place to live for a while until they get back on their feet?
