LOL, I sure hope- oops... I mean, that's what I' striving for. I wouldn't be doing all this extra work now, not to mention the PITA it is to harvest a plant in a scrog screen, if I didn't think it would increase my yield at least 50% than just groing them normally or in a SOG style. So...fingers crossed.

I know right!? I really got to start waiting until after I water my plants to smoke. Other wise I'm like fuck it, "that looks like 40mL."
Thanks for the compliment.

Don't get too down on it fella, get back to your usual shedule and your ladies will soon follow you. Great info' too mate.
I ended up reading all the information on the Mandala Seeds website I have to admit the won me over on their philosophies about growing in soil, EC and fertilizing. Basically, they have a minimalist, environmental approach to feeding. They say that most bottled fertilizer requirement are way too strong for growth in soil, and I believe they're right. I believed and knew everything said at one point in my life, I just forgot it somehow. Anyways, I want my ppm/ec to be a lot lower now that I think about and I'm gonna be cutting down the recommended doses by half.

I always mix my nutrients/additives in at a lighter dose, I've found that less is more if you know what I mean mate esp' with using the flowering additives. Does the nutrient co' your using have feeding charts available on their website?? I use CANNA nutes and use this chart as a guide to apply to my feeding shedule for example >>> http://www.canna-uk.com/growguide

kewl, but help a newb out ppm/ ec ?? :?
I don't know so much about EC because it more popular in europe than america. Basically they use EC instead of ppm like the US. Electro conductivity measures a material's ability to conduct an electric current. You can use that to measure the strength of the fertilizer, the same way we use a ppm meter. I was sold on the idea of measuring EC instead of ppm over-night again, by Mandala Seeds website. Here's what it says;

What to watch out for

There are various other scales or measurement systems used to measure the EC. These are called CF (conductivity factor), ppm (parts per million), and TDS (total dissolved solids). North American growers tend to use ppm and European growers use EC.

The problem with these other measurement systems is that they are all based on the EC but the manufacturers then use their own system of conversion to convert the EC to ppm, TDS or CF. These conversions are not as accurate as when you simply measure the nutrient salts with an EC meter in the first place! This means that each tester/meter will give you a different reading. You cannot tell what the EC is when you use a TDS or ppm meter. You cannot even compare readings between a TDS or ppm meter from different manufacturers!

Other systems make it very difficult to provide advice and for growers to compare information on their fertilizing methods and dosages. That’s why we always recommend to purchase an EC meter and avoid this confusion. You can then easily follow our advice on fertilizing and you always get accurate readings.
If you already have an expensive ppm or CF meter that you want to keep using here is a conversion table for some popular meters:leaf:

So every company's ppm meter is different in that it calculates pH differently. It seems pointless I guess, but to me it's another way to have more control over your garden, so I'll be implementing it as soon as I can get an EC meter.

Yeah, I use House and Garden ans they have an online calculator ---->http://www.house-garden.us/nutrient-calculator/
The calculator has been great really, I just forgot to adjust for the nutrients that are already in the soil, so I should've lowered the dosages a long time ago. There aren't HUGE toxicities present atm but some of the leaves margins are getting burned. Pretty much everything that eskobar said was a sign of over fertilization is visible in some of the fan leaves under the screen. I'm glad I got help before I killed my plants in like the last two week. That would SSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCcckkkkkKKKKKKKKKK....

if i wanted to know the npk value of home made soil you guys know how i would go about that
The only thing I could think of is these little npk tester kits they sell at nurseries

2:36 pm. I put some sand over the soil in my scrog to get rid of the fungus gnat problem and fed the girls. Other than that, day's been slooooooooowwww...
I might go to the hydro store in a few to get some soil so that I can save my LCxBB's and Herijuana's.

So I implemented my new feeding ideas and the plants have responded positively already. The leaves had lost their green luster, some of the pistils had shriveled and some of the leaves below the screen had rust colored spots on them and burned some margins. Not to mention the weird minor leaf distortions that were causing them to shoot in all different directions. All signs of over-ferting and over watering. So I cut down the recommended dosages by 60% to get the recommended soil EC of between .65 - .7 ( I was just about there at .72 EC).
Already just two days later they actually look better. The leaves stopped the distortion and they got their healthy green glow back. For now, the plants are looking good and the buds are growing in nicely. I took a lot of pictures because they look good and I was just so happy that thing are their way back to normal.

I have to say, the hempy buckets are phenomenal. I have the money to do this properly and buy some good hydroponic fertilizer, they would be the best looking plants in the house. They grow pretty damn fast too. So far, I'm loving it, and there's a good possibility I'll be running hempy buckets next cycle for my commercial grow.

I was wondering what you had cracking beansly, looks really good bro. Keep it up :leaf:
Yeah, man this is it. It isn't much but you have to start somewhere. I dreams of bigger grows but I need to make them money to get there first. Glad you like the setup tho, thanks.

Looking good beansly Il be hangiing around watching
Hey, thanks. Please don't hesitate to give any criticism. It's the only way I learn.

there fuckin mint them lad..good on ya only 4 days to go lad it soon be here..
I know, I can't wait!
Man, fuck the herijuana's and the lady canes, I'm growing Nev's Haze next cycle!
And I'll have owed it all to you man.

I was worried about these being crowded and not getting enough light but it look like they're putting on some weight, so I'm happy about that. I just wish I knew more about these weird strains (sugar black rose, northern light blue). I know the wwbb is good, but this could all be for naught if the other ones suck. Well see. Either way it wont be hard to make money off them here.
