I have my room sealed as best as I can. I have 170 cfm fan and filter from HTG. My room is under my stairs and my side door is right there. When u come in the house you can smell the 55 days flower, Only right in the door way. I have tried ONA and Glade plug Ins nut nothing is helping. Is there anything else I can do aside from pouring ONA on the rug and smearing it in?

I have 6 plants going. Short Rider, NL#5, Purple Erkel, and Sour diesel cross.

The Short Rider is by far the stinkiest....

Get a bigger fan filter combo. How big is your room? sounds like your not exchanging air fast enough
Well the room is shaped like a right triangle cuz its built under the stairs. Its 3ft deep by 8 ft long by 7.5 ft high and I have 170 cfm fan and filter. I'm not getting negative pressuer enough to suck the door shut but it draws air theough the passive intakes. How big should I go?

(The following is my opinion and is not meant to upset or offend anyone)

In the past year of seriously learning to grow I have determined that high odor & humidity issues inside the grow room (which sounds like your prob) can be solved by increasing your intake and exhaust of air. If your door is sucking closed then I would assume your not allowing enough fresh air in. My door barely has any grab when closed, this is because my intake is as big as my exhaust. Which is important for proper flow.

I wouldn't mess with ozone as a miss function of the device could mean harm to you and others. but there are several cheap models at amazon of HEPA Air purifiers I'm thinking of getting to be completely sure there's no smell in my house since my nose is too accustomed to it to tell. On the other hand, Is your room really sealed? Get some white poly at least 5mil and wrap all your walls with it and then seal the joints with duct tape, it should be as air tight as possible! and of course you'll need CO2 enrichment to run this configuration. If running passive ventilation (like I am right now) I use two fans, one for under the canopy and the other above, you have to poke the bud with your nose to get the scent. Like mentioned before high humidity and low ventilation increase the smell.

I tried all kindsa stuff, Ona, hepa filters, bounce sheets over the fan exhaust ect. NOTHING worked until I just got my new Canfilter. 6" with 6' inline fan. Fan cost me $150 & the filter cost me $95. There is NO smell now & if you read my past posts its been a real issue for me.
To the point that I half buried a fur lining so that when the cops came looking for the source of the stink it would look like an animal died under my deck. it was that bad.
Now.. NOTHING. I am SO sold on them. I assume ANY carbon filter will work but this is the one I bought & its working GREAT!

good luck

I thought you were supposed to have negative pressure for the best results. In any case, you'll need a bigger carbon filter at least. If you have the same one I have (and I think you do; Came in a combo from HTG for $120 bucks? http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-GrowBright-4in-Inline-Fan-&-Carbon-Filter-Combo.asp)
I have four plants that are just starting to smell and already the whole house has a light fresh grown bud stank that is only gonna get worse.
You might wanna make sure your exhausting the air completely out of the house too. I only have the ducting going into the next room (a bathroom) and using the exhaust in there to pull the air out so it's not doing as good as it could be if I installed it right.
You say your growing under the stairs so I'm wondering where you exhaust the cleaned air too?
Unless you have it going out of the house, even filtered, you'll have a small smell in the house.

Your right. My door sucks a little, but not to the point of it slipping out of my hand. I guess I should have elaborated a little more on that. its like running a swamp cooler, you want your front door to close gently by its self but not slam.

and the bad part is you get used to the smell if someone that comes to door thats not around it they know right off
what i done is buy car freshners and had them at front door entrance made a world of difference as well I hung one of them 5 , 10 , 15 , 30 mins fresh scent sprayers near front entrance as well

A really good idea is buying cinamin and clove powder boil it on the stove when your home

How big is your grow room? When I do the math on mine a 170cfm fan should exchange the air like 2 times a min. I'm thinking I need to just upgrade to a Can filter. I have 1 6in passive intake and I'm sure its enough fresh air goin in there. I just think this HTG filter is not good enough quality. If I go to a 430cfm fan I think that may be overkill? Idk that's why I'm asking all of u guys before I shell out a few more 100s on something I don't need...I'm really just not sure.

Are you venting your room outside?

I have an "under the stairs room" the same as yours. I have a 6x15 inch intake at the floor and a simple 70cfm bathroom van venting outside on 45min off 15min on intervals. My air exchange seems pretty good now...wondering if I'll need to add a carbon filter further into flower....

Yes you are gonna need a carbon scrubber for sure if you dont want people to smell the weed. Its an unmistakable smell. The last 3 or 4 weeks of flower it is stinky times 10!

Well I closed up the size of my intake last night and was able to create enough negative pressure that a piece of thin cardboard will suck to the intake vent when the door is shut. It really almost killed all the smell but I bought a CAN filter and I am gonna install that later today when the lights come on. I think that should do the trick...I hope so at least.

The Can filter is almost double the length of the HTG growbright filter i have in there now.
