Abortion is a pretty private issue. The fact that we get to vote on something like this is beyond me.
Not matter what the circumstance, if a woman is getting an abortion, there must be a reason that she is getting one, and if that reason does not involve you, then it's not your business.
If you have a personal problem with abortion then let someone who is going to bear your child know that, other wise mind your business.

I'm sorry, I'm a little behind the curve here, a tax break on health insurance??? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I have just never heard of that, please expound.
... are you referring to "Additional Options" "Post A Poll" "Create a poll with this number of options (Maximum 10):" ... then there's a box for a check mark and o box with a 4 in it?
thanks for the answer on the tax break... I should have posted the last two lines separately, they weren't part of that question, they are about posting a poll
you said: "Choose the time frame, poll options and multi choice options." and all I see is "Create a poll with this number of options (Maximum 10):"

I assume you have a poll option any time you start a thread.
Scroll down way down.

here's a screen shot of the bottom of the page:

well, I've got the screen shot but it won't attach to the message
anyway, no POLL OPTION other than the one stated
but since I can't seem to start a poll, attach files to the message and have not been able to upload pics from my drive, I guess you gotta have more whiskers around here to do that stuff.

The title of this thread is wrong. It should be Cancer Screening/Women's health services or Shutdown. Planned Parenthood has very little to do with actual abortions.
you must be joking. ppfa, a non-governmental corporation, receives about a third of its funding from government sources and is directly responsible for approximately a quarter of the million plus abortions performed every year in this country. on top of that, they are one of the prime promoters of even the most heinous forms of abortion and campaign constantly against any legislation that might cut into that industry.

It is against the law to use federal funding for abortion. Planned Parenthood gets absolutely NO funding for abortions. You are being lied to.

A one week extension is in effect.

I have not heard if woman's health care is included or excluded.

If it's only a week, it'll be an extension of the current budget.

For the record, the real point of the issue here isn't really being presented by anyone in the media. It's all about whether or not the massive spending since Obama took office is going to be the new baseline for the budget, or if they'll go back to 2008 and use that as a baseline (increasing spending a certain percentage above inflation annually from the previous year).

They better not ok that EPA global warming BS.It'll be another piece to their CAP&TAX SCEME..
We won't know until the ink dries next week.
Let me say this. I wouldn't let Teapublicans babysit. How sick is it to hold woman's health care hostage?
If that is what the Tea party is about they can go back under their rock.

So if the economy is in the shitter, where will it be once the government shuts down? Do the Republicans think its like a frozen computer? Just turn it off, wait a little while and when it comes back on the deficit will be gone and everyone will have jobs?

They agreed to cuts and an extension to allow time for the budget bill to be finished in writing on the condition that the EPA and PP issues be voted on seperately.

So there will not be a shutdown, now or at any other point in the year as far as I can tell.

This is not about abortion. It will be just as legal.

This is about the budget, not morality; no matter how much the Donks try to spin it.

And since Planned Parenthood is not Constitutionally protected, it is ripe for the picking.

Trade Planned Parenthood for the National Endowment for the Arts and I wager the Proggies would be making just as much noise.

The women's health/reproductive rights argument is just a red herring designed to whip the Liberal herd into a mad frenzy.

It is the spending cuts the they can't abide.

Sooner or later a cut will affect something someone holds dear.

Cutting Planned Parenthoods funding amounts to essentially a 1/3rd cut in their budget. Abortions account for less than 2% of what Planned Parenthood does.

So tell me, how is it that "women's health/reproductive rights argument is just a red herring"? It seems quite clear that cutting funding will only result in less PP health centers, and less money for contraceptives, promoting safe sex, STD screenings, etc.

How can you justify this? 5 million poor women rely on these services every year.
