Yes it would work but very slowly and you would not see much buds on the far side of your little experiment. For closet grows, T5s or even T12 shop lights work very nicely with the cool white bulbs.

agreed cost more for all those cfls with poor results as it would for a t5 or 2,100 bucks for 2 t5 and will light your space up nice,not sure bcause i use hps and t8s but i think thry have dirrerent bulbs for veg and flower for t5s ask hre or your local hydro

A member since 2007 and you dont have any clues about cfls? I would find a different hobby if I were you......
You have been alive for at least 20 years and you havent got a clue how to talk to people? I would find a new hole to crawl in and stay there until you can offer some useful advice

Go to walmart and get yourself a couple shop lights 10 bones and bulbs are like 6 for 2 or 4 can't remember and you'll be fine.... But i would invest in a hid or t5 tho eventually... the sooner the better. If your goona do it do right.............

i'm vegging 4 clones under 12 26W - 4x5000K, 7x6500K @ 1600 Lumens each, each 1.5 inches off the top of the plant, and they are growing faster then I can keep up 
But they're also the right spectrum for vegging, I wouldn't try to flower under them, Thats a job for my HPS, and as soon as I get my MH converter I won't be using the CFL's either, except maybe for a lil clone closet or something.
