The Official Canna Coco & Nutrients Thread

Hello m8 - Not yet we had a big bust near me so everthing's on hold for now while the dust settles.. prob gonna have a go at Chronic Ryder next or use up all the Diesel Ryder seeds I have left.. I also have to invest in new light & extraction equip as I lent it to my m8 who got busted :(

Ahhh fair enough mate, better to play it safe than sorry. Well if you get your setup up an running again, make sure you send me a message or something, loved your other journals!

Anyone have some advice on doing a 12/12 from seed grow with the canna coco and nutes? I assume the timing on the PK changes, etc.

hello mate, i do nothing but 12-12 from seed, just started with coco a little while ago, i started using pk around 2 1/2 weeks of flowering, these are a few of the girls:leaf:

Those look great. When you say 2 1/2 weeks of flowering, so you mean 2 1/2 weeks fromt he day of germination, or 2 1/2 weeks from when you first see buds appear?

I asked Canna how long we could let the nutrients sit after they've been mixed. Here was their response:

With the exception of the Bio line, a week to 12 days is about all the time you want to hold onto nutrients that are mixed. Once mixed with each other and exposed to air, they begin to change a little and the ratios of available elements to each other change. Bio Canna should be used up in about 5 days. All products do better if allowed to sit for about 1 hour after mixing. Adding an airstone only speeds decay so it is not advisable.

Just doing some experimenting. Certain varieties like nirvana northern lights do excellent with 12/12 from seed. Very high yield, very fast finishing times. Do a search for "Why would ya' waste space on Lowryder I or II???" on google and check out the results that guy got in 54 days from seed. Pretty crazy.

northern lights will start to flower within 2 1/2 weeks if started 12-12 from seed

cheers mate yeah started at 2 1/2 weeks from first sign of bud, slows upward growth and fattens them up.

Hello =D
I'm a noobermiester using Canna Aqua in an Aeroponic set up, I was just wondering if it is imperative to use both Cannazyme and Rhizotonic together? if just one and not the other might have negative affects of the roots. If not, might you suggest one or the other in a smaller set up?
I'm also having some problems with my solutions PH after i adjust and add nutrients stir and let it sit it is still much too acidic and the PPM even seem to go down! =/ any suggestions would be grrrreat!

Take a look at my grow journals in my sig (Diesel & Lowryder 2 Journals) - I have germed in coco & grown with it too..

Yesss indeed sometimes it goes down a little. .. i let my nutes sit some hours before i use them and check again of coarse. My PPM meter might be scootin the boot cause I made a mixture that was about 800PPM and then a hour or two later it was 200PPM?! Do you think if i had accidentally left it in a warm place or something like that it might have been effected? Perhaps I will look at a better EC/PPM Meter on ebay today!

Im starting a room here in michigan. I have nine different strands between my 24 plants. I have them under a 1000w HPS, in 5 gallon smart pots, temp 74 humidity 45%, but in four of the strands I am seeing leaf curl. I am quite positive that it is not bugs, nor disease, which leaves my with nutrient burn. My ph is 6.5, and the plants are near six inches.
My first round of feeding I went roughly 80% dose as per instructions and saw nute burn in four of my strands(1300ppm). I flushed for a week and once they looked healthy again I fed, but this time with 50-60% dose(900ppm) and I am still seeing nutrient burn. I can state that one of the four is in soil and being fed coco, but all other sit in a coco medium. Any advice? After I post this I will attempt to take some photos

Your ppms are way too high........if you are at 6" then you should only be at about 400!!......Here is an easy guide to ppms....keep in mind that this is a safe scale....some strains can take more........Early veg.....200-400......Mid-late Veg......400-600........Early bloom....600-800.......mid bloom....700-900.....Late bloom....800-1100.......
You really don't need more than that and with these numbers you won't burn..............Good Luck Man...I got a buddy who just moved out there.....Things are startin to pop for you guys.......Peace

Hi guys,
I just received 6 8-10" rooted clones in Coco medium. They are in about 1 quart pots.
Question:
I normally grow in FF soil. Can I transplant the whole thing, medium and all, into soil? That stuff is so "fluffy" that I can't imagine turning the pots upside down to transplant. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, yes you can.
Make sure the coco is moist. I find coco to be about the same consistency as wet coffee grinds. It holds itself together just fine with a root ball in there. Pretty much just like the best soil consistency a person could hope for.

Day 20 and they are looking great. Both are over 6" tall. Using coco and canna for the first time. Fed them this morning 15ml per gallon of rhizotonic and 10ml(down from 15ml) per gallon of the coco a&b. On one of my LSD leaves I noticed 3 little spots on the leaf edge. I'm thinking a slight nute burn. Been watching for a few days since I first spotted. I do see one other tiny spot but other than that the plant looks nice and healthy. I'll be watching closely of any changes. Pukka Bud suggested that I might wanna start adding some cal/mag. I'm thinking that's a good idea and I happen to have some magi-cal from my previous two grows. So next feeding I'll add some of that and keep the coco a&b at the 10ml if they respond well to this last feeding. All feedings have been ph'd to 5.8 and I am drain to waste. Any suggestions on when to start with the cannazyme? Here are a few pics. The first two are if the LSD and the second two are of the Blue Mystic.
