Hi ,
I plan to make a growing room with dims 140 cm H x 85 cm L x 60 cm W.Because i dont have much space i want to keep the plant growing low.My questions are :
1.From when should i have it tied and how, so it could grow low?
2.What lighting should i use (i have HPS of 400 W,is this ok or i need other/s) ?
3.How long should the plant be exposed to light daily? ( i see some 12/12;18/6 etc.but i can't can't catch it's meaning?
At this moment i have my seed 4th day,and it has grown one fragile root,white-pinkish color....Please help me out i am at very beginning growing my first plant ever.

your lighting is either 24 hours none stop or 18/6 which is 18 hours on and 6 hours off not sure on the size of your box but a closet would be fine for the 400 just make sure you ahve air circulation

Arch, I REALLY want to berate and belittle this guy, but out of respect for your thread, I shall restrain myself. I just wish people would research, because if it's worth the effort to start a grow, it's worth the effort to study up on the subject. Arch is so nice, i'm sure he'll answer for you, veggera, but all this information is readily available at your fingertips all throughout the forum. GL with your grow.

Oh man, every picture is amazing Arch! 4 More days huh? Looks very good my friend!

My plants have 2 more weeks to go to hit the 8 week mark. And i'm not satisfied with the growth in there now.. like i have a feeling i'm gonna be flowering past 8 weeks. The colas just don't look as fat as they should be right now in their stage.

Hey sss...2 weeks is alot of time. They can fatten up a lot in two weeks. They look good so far so do not panic. One thing that I have learned si that there is no one grow. Each individual grow and each individual strain and each individual pheno is going to act the same. Stick to the basics...good soil conditions...good water ph'd properly and nutrients at proper dosages...water only when needed. I understand your concerns, because this being my first grow I worried/wondered about all kinds of stuff. But..i kept things as simple as possible...read all that I could and tada. Now if I can make this grow happen again, I will feel that I have proven myself. Until then I get an atta boy but consistency makes a good grower. I hope to get there some day. many of the folks that graciously comment on my thread are amazing growers. Take the time to read what they have been through. Distill from what you read the information that will pertain to you and use it. GL man and HAVE fun.

LOL..i have some pruning shears ready for that day..she is getting put back into veg again after this grow I think along with another seedling to see what she can do on round two..worst case scenario is I get some awesome clones.

The method my new friend is called :Low Stress Training" If you search this forum there are many amazing examples of training plants to suit the growers needs. Mine was height so I read as much as I could about LST.

Thanks a ton homer! I am going to let her hit the 8 week mark and decide then what to do. if she is good to go, I will stick her in the dark for 24-36 hours to see how much more resin I can get her to produce then snip snip baby girl..lol.

Now who don't believe Arch will get at least 2oz dry weight off Babygirl!!! Just look at those thick colas. The hairs have all receded into the buds and the picture of it is just budolicious Excellent Job Arch, what an accomplishment for your 1st grow.

Thanks CHIEF! Its official...I took her out this morning and she is ready! I am seeing more amber which means that many are cloudy. I want a more heady high anyway so tonight she goes into darkness. Heck she even popped a few more calyxes with new pistols..lol. I gave her a nice watering this morning with a big dose of molasses..its the last one she gets. Going out today and picking up a nice set of trimming shears, some isopropyl alcohol and a turkey pan, idea compliments of the "Box Man" CD. I am going to take the smaller buds also..they are pretty far along. I am going to keep them separate though because I want to compare the high between them and the larger more developed buds. I am hoping that she picks up even more resin but I dont know how she can...the close ups in my loupe have them looking like a film already on the buds..lol.

Much of what gets played today does not even constitute music in my book. I am showing my age now..shit listen to me talk..I sound like my grandpa. I am about to hit the half century mark myself.
