hello there.

well I am about to purchase a DR40 just because it is

my first grow. I have a couple question that I would like

answered by some people that seem to be very knowledgeable.

1) What kind of lighting should I use? (DR40 is 16.8x16.8x48 inches)

2) Is it necessary to buy an inline fan?

3) How many clones do you think I could fit inside the tent?

Thank you to anybody who answers back!!! Really appreciate all the help I can get!!!

STAY HIGH
250w will be right for the dr40 dont try to get anything higher then that

my dr120 has tons of leaks came with a tear which i repaired with a couple kevlar patches with adhesive, the store gave me 50 bucks back on the tent so that was cool. as for the others i think im going to have to drape some light proof fabric over all sides because of all the light leaks and pinholes and leaks from zipper. im about to go into flower so i got to get it light proof ot trying to stress my fem plants and have them go hermie im already seeing pre-flowers on several.
yeah get them leaks fixed asap even tho thair in veg that should be the first thing you do!!l leakes should be sorted the same day you fix your tents up, it saves you alot of problems.

i'm amazed with the boys getting so many leakes in the jorden tents.

MY ADVICE
the day you get your tents deleverd, you need to fix them up the same day and get some one to zip you up whilst your in it and search for any leaks. if you find even one tiny leake return it back or get some money back on the tent, light leakes are eazy to fix if you do it properly the first time, its better triple cheacking for the leakes rather then getting hermies

How many 3-4 foot high plants can a DR240W handle with 2x600w hps?
its eazy to work out
to work it out by light 6-8 plants per 600w is ideal

to work it out in size place the final size pot in a corner pik it back up and place it next to where it was plus keeping another 1ft space aswell as the same of the pot, work your way all around the tent and there you will have the number of how many plant in the space im judging on the 4ft plants your planning to grow and remember if your going to top you need more space

how did you seal the light leaks?
this is the way i do it, get some super glue, and some thick dark meterial and some duct tape, stick the meterial in the centre of the duct tape, leave 1cm all around the duck tape, so you have the material in the centre of the sticky part and all around the meteral you can see some sticky part so that you can put some super glue around it, this will make sure its giong to stay there and not fall of the tent after a while,

locate the leake

then get the super glue and put super glue all around the duck tape, the the same side you sticked the meterial on, then quikly stick the hole think on the out side of the tent making sure the leake is on the meterialand the sticky part is on the tent meterial, get some one to press against it from inside the tent and you press it from the out side hole it there for 5 mins tight, that shud do the trick and it lasts for a very long time

i know these arnt the best instructions but if you need some more help just let us know ;)

Hello all I'm a newbie to indoor grow as well as tent growing. I recently bought a growlab 60, 250W SunSystem2 Switchable MH / HPS, 4" Ecoplus duct booster. I told my brother and he went out and got a growlab120, 600W HPS. So now I can play with two tents.

It's been 2 weeks now since I setup, I really like my gl60 but in the future I think I'm going to buy a gl80 so I can have one for veg and another for bloom.

My temps 75-79 F

2 clone plants using LST

2 weeks into veg, either my plants are sick or the 250W MH grows slow.

I have a clone plant in my brothers tent and It's in flowering only after 3 weeks of veg.

Yes people.. Thought i'd get in on the action aswell. Ive got a Secret Jardin DR240 XL. Got a 200mm fan and rhino carbon filter. Vents TT 150 fan for fresh air. Running 4 x 600w HPS lights. The only thing i need to do is upgrade the reflectors to air cooled hoods, cause this baby gets toooooo hot.
Ive got 6 Barnys Farm Blue Cheese, 5 x Big Buddha Blue Cheese and 5 x Greenhouse seeds Nevilles Haze. They have all only just been planted. The BF Blue Cheese is 1week old.

Hello there.

I've been using a DR120 I bought off a buddy of mine since october of 2010. I love the tent a lot, the zippers are pretty good about being light tight, but no tent is perfect.

I am wondering how other dr120 users feel about how many plants they can sqeeze inside. Obviously style of growing is the largest factor here. Last harvest, I got 4 big supercropped girls in there, got a decent yeild but i'd rather fit 8 smaller sized plants in there to work with my perpetual harvest. I am allowed 12 plants, so I do 4 in veg, 4 in month 1 of flower, and 4 in month 2 of flower. I currently only have 6 in flower, and they fit pretty nice, I think I could do 8 by keeping them less bushy. I've been focusing on making the most of each branch, so they all grow colas @ the canopy. I'm not utilizing secondary growth sites and anything below that would produce popcorn. I am slowly making a transition to a scrog, once this next harvest comes and I can start fresh, I will be scroggin.

So if anyone else has a DR120 i'd just like to hear your setup and how many plants you got in there.

And i was told a DR120 is capable of running a 600w w/o heat issues, I bought a 1000w anyways lol, and I can keep it under 80 in there during the entire day w/o issues. :D

One way is to use Panda film to block the light. Use those heavy duty clips found in the office place for clipping together large stacks of documents... clip the edge of the panda film to the top edge of the tent - there is nice 3/4 inch edge you can clip to. You can cut the panda film to fit around ducts and ports on the back and sides, and then clip up the front when you are not doing work.

I ran a DR150W for veg. Using the above technique I was able to actually place the tent IN the flower room!

For the passive intakes, use a 4 foot length of LIGHTPROOF ducting... give the length of ducting 2 or 3 turns to block light. Again, it is important the inside of the ducting is black (lightproof style). In a pinch, you could make standard ducting lightproof with aluminum tape, or duct tape, and spray paint... shiny interior on the ducting can still reflect light around corners.

I will be getting the DR120 anytime this month, the setup will be:

1000 watt MH/HPS
1000 watt lumatek digital ballast
6 inch vortex fan
6 inch ducting
another fan for air circulation
SilverStar 6 inch Air cooled Reflector
Advanced Nutrients Mother Earth Super Tea Grow
Advanced Nutrients Mother Earth Tea Bloom
Advanced Nutrients Nirvana
Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil/perlite

Then of course seeds, water, and pots. Anything else I need to add? This tent comes with a light reflector pulley system right?

I plan to build my own carbon filter...

Depending on where you live and if you plan to run AC or not you might want to go with an 8" fan. I would also go with a Magnum XXXL hood too. I run the same tent with a 600w hps light + cool tube and I have to have near perfect weather outside for it to run in the low 80s. I was planning to upgrade to an 8" fan and 8" Magnum XXXL soon but instead opted to swap to LED for the summer. The only time I'll get to run my HPS is in the winter.... Good luck, looks like you're off to a good start :leaf:

Sounds good.will that be a passive intake? would you not need an intake fan aswell if you are running a 1000w? Unless your living somewhere cold i suppose :)

Yeah It's pretty cold 6-8 months throughout the year here, so I thought I could wait on extra fans/bigger ones until the summer. Turns out my basement ceiling is only 6ft.......wow.....is there any way you can possibly squeeze the top of the tent to fit??? Or any tents that are similar in quality and price but will fit the 6ft height limit?

What a nut buster...

EDIT: Looks like I'm getting the DR90 ll instead, perfect height of 6ft. Thing is it's only 3x3 now, should I be able to put a 1000 watt in still? Or is 1000 watt overkill for such a small place? I'll probably upgrade with a powered intake if I get the 1k for this smaller tent.

Will there even be more light penetration than a 600 watter in the DR90? 3x3x6.

Yes, check out the DR120W which is 2 feet by 4 feet and about 5 feet tall, or the DR150W, not sure how tall that one is but it is 3 feet by 5 feet and might be just under 6 feet. Check out greners.com

I checked, and they are both discontinued. :( The DR90 ll is the best one yet for the height.... in my last post I asked if a 1k light would benefit in this tent? I'm thinking that a 1000 watt won't really make an improvement over 600 watt in such a small growing space? Or will the plants gobble it up even more....
