WEEK 5 UPDATE

100_1472.jpg

over all everything looks OK, plants don't seem to be growing taller but they do seem to be alive and working on the buds, I'm not sure how much tho progress seems slow now.

you can see the nute burn or i think thats what it was on the leaves in the form of spots and discoloration.

I have been reading about adding small amount of Epsom salts as an insurance picky and it can also help nutrient lock out so I'm debating adding 1/2 a teaspoon to one gallon water. i am now in the 5th week of flower. any opinions out there on this?
Epsom salt is for mag an i think MG bloom fertz already add it in. Mine does. An its got salt in it so I dont use it.
Think the main thing MG lacks is calcium.

I have not used anything but water since the nute burn. I was watching them to see what happens, so i could add it now. everything seems stable, cant hurt right long as i don't over due it right??

If your not sure dont add the epson. I have read some neg things about it and it could do more harm than good. I got some of the same spots from over watering (keeping the soil to wet not letting it dry out). Once the fan leaves are damaged they wont come back. I saw salt build up in the saucers. I use very low nutes whitch means, I think lol, they have a lock out and not use the nutes, so I flushed them (2 gal pot flush with 4 gal ph water) let them dry and then fed them. they are doing better now.

My plants all need water at diff times. Even same strains at same age. Today two bubbas wanted water, I could see before the lights went out that one SLH will need water in the morning and the maybe the 3rd bubba. The second SLH, 4th bubba and WW and WRhino are not close to needing water. You can tell by the weight of the pot. I wait till the leaves droop a bit, not wilt, wilt will mess the leaves up big time. When I water I get a good run off and let drain then after the wick off some water, leaves pointing out and the weight of the pot has lightened and are in full wick mode I feed them and get just a little run off. They will suck up the nutes. If you can learn to time it right you can see them explode. Look up Riddlemel's thread Make it Rain, seems to work great. Im here to learn and help when I can...

I want some this...

You should get some reflective material for the walls and floor if you can. This is what I use in my cabinets. It helps with the stretch and lower buds.:leaf:

Sunfilm Ultra Reflective Film 48'' x 50'
The ultimate reflective film that is 97% reflective. This film is extremely durable–puncture and tear resistant. Nylon mesh scrim reinforcement is woven into the film and is washable as well as waterproof.

I cant thank you enough for the info and personal experience with your plants, that really makes me feel like I'm headed in the right direction.

I don't even try to water my plants by hand anymore, i always kill them so i use the claber oasis to water them for me :)

Well i cant say enough about the Claber auto watering system i got, described earlier in this thred. when I'm not messing with it, like adding extra water cycles cause i think it needs more it works perfectly. this system keeps the plants in the ideal moisture range. I was worried at first the 4 oz of water my plants are getting a day wouldn't be enough, but it turns out they thrived in it. i had zero problems till i started adding more water because i thought they needed it lol If your growing more than 20 plants tho this system wouldn't work.

to anyone else interested in this watering system remember 1 driper per plants in veg (plants under 24 inches) and 2 Dripers per pot for flowering (plants up to 5 feet tall) any more than this will over water) also i never use anything but the 10 day setting.

Check out Cruisers thread. He uses an auto feeder system. Once you get it dialed it works great. That is the best if you can keep them at optimum moisture at all times. He grow MONSTERS!!!

oh cool looking now

yeah i noticed that when i have them get exactly as much water as they need per day the plants grow at amazing speed. in veg and early flower at least. cause thats as far as i have gotten lol

I would like to have one some day but I grow so many strains and plants it may not be practical for me...

well as week 5 comes to and end and i move into week 6 of flowering

so far i have 2 plants in flower one 5'2 and the other 4'6"

they have been growing for 102 days and are in their 40th day of flowering

plants seem alive and smelling very strong at times especially right before the lights come on in the morning.

buds right at the top seem medium in size at best and lower buds are tiny. buds look nicely frost and strong tricome development, under the microscope i see a forest of tricomes with rounding heads all very clear not quite translucent but close in color.

today i added two 90watt LED ufos for supplemental light to my 400 watt hps. since my room is small i can not have a bigger HID light than i do now, I'm excited that the combination of the 3 lights will amount to bigger buds, in the next grow.

The Flowering Blues has a firm grip on me now wondering how big my plants will get and what else will go wrong, will the LEDs help, should i add more nutes arrrrgh.

well at least life in the Veg tank chugs on like normal fat dumb and happy veg'en. I'm thinking its time to start these ladies on the 12/12.

update coming about aerogardens use in veg/clone cycles.

New Vegetation station

I'm going to be disassembling my fish tank veg chamber to add floor space to my flowering room, in preps for this i have created my new veg station.

station consists of 2 elite aerogardens, 1 UFO 90 watt LED, and a cloning tray with heated bottom.

so far results are incredible, the LED was added today so all plants were grown under only the areogardens CFLS.

I am also growing hot peppers tomatoes lettuce cat grass and catnip for fun.

you can see right away that the plant growing in the right aerogarden is dwarfing everything else in size.
its amazing that this seedling is only 14 days old. this unknown skunk plant along with the other of its kind were germinated from seed, and they grew their stem into a 90 degree bend due to the arogardens seed pod construction.

The seedling actually fell over for a few days until the stem split it self apart and re grew it self so the plant was standing upright and straight. now its about 4 inches tall and 10 inches wide!!!! You will see in the upcoming pictures its stem structure is solid and inter-node length is very small. The broad leaves are huge and much more indica looking than anything i have ever grown before.

The origins of this seedling are unknown, its a skunk seed from a nice bag i had, I'm using this throw away seed for testing purposes and it may end up being one of my prized pheno's in the future!

i think i will call him stinky :)

look at the size of this 2 week old

here is a seedling standing it self back up after undergoing an aerogarden start that bent its stem by 90 degrees!

also notice the great stem and inter-node structure on stinky.

Inter-node porn

think i will be doing a lot of pruning in the future

Stinky's roots are just as healthy as his uberbody.

oh yeah i truly hope stinky is a stinkette but do the the fast initial growth i suspect this one to be a male, but we can hope.

lettuce roots for comparison, notice the brown tips where the root didn't find water fast enough, cool stuff.

big!could make it good punch with the maui wowie

Thats exactly what I'm shooting for allen bud :) now I'm in the process of looking for the best example of the strain, last year i spent crossing the parents. Now I'm documenting the process in finding just the right mother. then i will have the option to breed her and the stud i already have waiting. giggity

that all of course is gonna be based on my smoke reports of the current 2 phenotypes i have running.

Looks good lone, I would grow this baby out for sure...

thanks!

I'm still wondering if its the genetics here making this grow so fast and so well, or could it just be the aerogarden hydro set up with led supplemental light.

I have never had a seedling this strong in soil.
