Nice work bro, looking great for your first grow! They are indeed getting frosty. Since you switched to RO water you do INDEED have to supplement with Cal-Mag+ at every water. I use Botanicare's Cal-Mag+ 1 gallon. Costs about $45 at a local shop. If you don't have a hydro shop any garden store should have some form of cal-mag additive I'd think....I add 1 tsp of Cal-Mag+ to every single gallon of water my babies drink.

, I did make the trip to the garden store and picked up some Cal Mag Plus. I gave the ladies a good feeding of Bigbloom with a touch of Grow big and well as added in the Cal Mag Plus. I hope to see some improvment in the next few days. Hope you enjoy the bud pics, Im nt a great picture taker by any means.....but wanted a few shoots without the HPS light. Enjoy: stlmatt

This might sound retarded but Ive seen videos of guys using sun glasses to stop the wavy black lines some magnetic ballast cause in videos. It worked for that so maybe give a try sorry just checked thread for first time in awhile and haven't read yet, so if you already tried I apologize broSorry no pics without the HPS, I cant seem to get my camera to filter out the HPS light....even useing a flash doesnt help, but I do plan on taking some nice pics next time I pull them out to clean and wipe down my tent......in the next week or so. I will post as soon as I have some killer pic, I want them to be frosty

OK, well as you can see I decided it was time to chop my ladies down. I let them flower for 70 days and then gave them 72 hours of darkness before chopping them down. I had about 10% amber on my trichomes......they could have went maybe another week, but I just couldnt wait anymore. (as I am almost out of smoke) I did end up with some really nice looking buds, but yield is not going to be what I was hoping for. I think I am going to yield about 1 or 1.5 oz per plant on the average. I know I made several mistakes on my first attempt. The biggest of those mistakes was letting them get to big for the area they were in before starting to flower. Most of the lower sections of the plants only produced small popcorn sized buds that seem to be weeks behind the top buds as for as ripeness. I should have trimmed most of the lower sections off as to help the top buds increase in size, but since this was my first indoor grow and I had read that these were prone to Hermi if stressed I did very little purning. The good news is I have lots of material for making butter, oil or hash I just havent decided what i am going to make with all the trimmings and small buds. I have learned so much from this grow and cant wait to start my second as I know it will be so much better. I am ging to do ak-48 for my second grow. Anyway I have the buds trimmed up and hanging inside the grow tent, they will still need a final trim and will be placed into jars for curing once dryed. I will follow up with a smoke report and some pics once its ready to smoke. Thanks for all the great advice and comments, I enjoyed sharing my first grow here and I am looking forward to more grows, as I know its only going to get better

I thought about that, but I needed to use my grow tent for my drying area.........then throw in the 72 hours of darkness before the chop and I had no choice but to wack them all. It kind of worked out good because I wanted pleanty of trimmings to make something, and with all the small buds and trim I should be able to make some killer snacks
My main goal was to learn about growing and supply me with enough personal smoke to last untill the next crop is done.......I am hoping I have enough (4+ oz) to make it another 4 months or so..LOL, Thanks for comments and I will post a smoke report and pics in a few weeks. Stlmatt

Well its been a few weeks since my harvest and I thought I would post a few pics and give an early smoke report. This was my first indoor grow and I have learned alot. I had 3 Barneys Farm LSD plants and 1 bag seed plant. I harvested 4oz of good smoke from the LSD, The bag seed plant didnt do as well but I was able to get a few nice buds and used the rest for butter and hash. All in all I had 7oz of good trimming and small popcorn buds from the 4 plants. I used 5oz of the trimmings to make some bubble hash
, this was my first time ever making it and I must say its as easy as it gets. I used a 5 bag system that I purchased on e-bay for $52 and it worked great. I ended up with 7g of hash. I used 2oz of trimmings to make 2lbs of butter and even though I havent tried any yet it looks good (has a nice light green color and a stinky smell) I used my grow tent for the drying area, and I bought one of those hanging dry nets....it worked great. I dryed the buds for 5 days until they were dry to the touch but the stems were still fexiable. I then jared them up for the cure, opening and rotating the buds inside the jars twice a day for the first 10 days or so. They still have a week or so to go before they will be 100% cured, but some of the smaller buds were close enough to give them a smoke. The LSD has a great smell, very nutty with a hint of lemon or citrus.
It taste about like it smells, but I think after a few mores weeks of cure it will be even better.
The smoke is not a one hit wonder, but two or three hits will give you what I like to call "Perm-a-smile"
It hits pretty hard as a heady high then changes into a more full body high after 15-30mins
Its a great smoke for going out or doing something and seems to make me talk alot..LOL
The hash I made is AWESOME, I couldnt believe how easy it was and if I had not made the butter first I would have used all 7oz of trimmings for hash. As you can see by the pics I had several different pieces most of hash came from the 100 micron bag. I have only had hash a few times as its usally like finding a needle in a hay stack in my area. This stuff smokes real nice, a 0.5g peice can last me all night......it hits you very hard and can cause you to be unable to focus on certian things (i.e the guide screen on my sat tv, I couldnt read a damn thing) It's taste is not as good as the buds, but still nice.....even a small toke can give you that I need to cough feeling, holding the hit in for as long as possiable and your eyes begin to cross, let it out slow and WOW, your baked
I had one of my buddies over who only smokes from time to time (not a everyday toker like myself) anyway I fired up a nice sized piece of hash in a small glass pipe and let him have at it...........about 15 min later he was so baked he couldnt stand up or even talk, I was laughing my ass off (you know when your laughing so hard you dont even make noise) Anyway good times had by all.
So all in all for my first indoor attempt, not bad.......but knowing what I know now I am sure my second attempt will be so much better, at least on the yield part anyway. I just had my AK-48 seeds pop today and I have them in there starter trays, so look for another grow journal on the AK-48
