Ok heres what has gone on in the past 7 days. I decided due to the size of the plants I should start the flowering process.
I gave all the plants a good flushing with H2O only.
Then almost 36 hours of darkness (they did stretch a little but not much)
Changed from MH to HPS lamp, 12/12 light cycle.

They have been on the 12/12 for 2 days......only 63 days to go...LOL, give or take:)

All the plants seem to be doing well, I have had a few leaves yellow and fall off, but they have only been on the verry bottom of the plant. I assume this is due to lack of light, as they get very little at the bottom of the plant. (these are some bushy MF'rs)

As you can see in the pic all of the plants are about 20 inches (50cm) tall. I have no idea how much they will stretch during flowering, but I only have about 15-20 inches that I can raise the light so I am hoping its less than that.

I can only see one LSD that is showing HER sex, the others I still cant tell for sure. I am hoping in the next week I will know 100%.

I also have a few questions. I looked up the discription of Barneys Farm LSD
Plant height = 50-60cm (indoor) I am at 50cm right now.....I assume I am on track????
Plant Yeild = 600g/2m What does that mean???......600grams if the plant is 2meters.
I guess I just want to know if I am on track? I am hoping each produce about 2oz after drying and cure.

Well feel free to chime in or ask any questions.

The 600 M2 means square meters

1 m = 3.28 ft

1 m^2 = 3.28 x 3.28 sq ft = 10.76 sq ft

So if your grow area is 10 square meters then could get up to 600 grams (1.33lbs)

OK, Here is my weekley update.Pics taken 11-1-10 Everything is going well. I had to get rid of one of the bagseed plants (center one) in the past week, as it was getting choked out from the others.....no biggie as it wasnt that big anyway. These things are just amazing, as you can see I have about 5 inches of growth in the last week. I went to the garden store and got a few more supplies:). They received a Sledgehammer flush, I also picked up one of those soil test kits and did a soil sample test a few days after the flush. The PH was right on the money, "K" was high, "N" was low and "P" was low. I gave them a good dose of Tigerbloom, and Bat guano along with a small amount of Grow Big. I plan to re-test the soil later in the week to see if my feeding improved the my results. I have these in 3 gallon pots, and I must say getting some soil to test was harder than I thought, as the roots are everywhere.....I hope I dont have any issues with these getting root bound. I really think in the next week we will be seeing some flowers:). I have had some yellowing and removal of some of the lower leaves, but I think its just from lack of light, as its like a jungle in my tent. Well one week into flowering and only 8 more to go....LOL, Stay tuned for more updates as things really get rolling

Thanks, I must say this soil test kit I got is really easy to use and I plan to check my levels about once a week. When I switched the light cycle to 12/12 I installed the HPS bulb, as I thought thats how it was done.....I guess I will just leave it the way it is as they seem to like it:). I am also thinking about adding a few CFL's in the bottom of the tent, as it doesnt get much light.......what do you think? Considering they were about 20" tall when I started the flowering, do you have any idea what I can expect the height to reach when they are rwady to harvest?

Just thought I would post pics since I pulled them out to give them a good flushing. The tallest plat is 28" and the shortest one of about 23". They seem to be doing well, but I have had a few of the big lower fan leaves fall off....who knows why. I will be hitting them with a good dose of nutes in a day or so. I was wondering if I should prune some of the lower sections that dont look like they will produce much, if any buds. Any and all sugestions welcome.

Weekley Update, Pics taken 11-8-10. Well things seem to be going ok. As you can see I have some flowers starting:) The plants have streached some and are still losing some of there under growth, but the tops look great. I have them a good heavy watering on 11-5-10 then a good feeding two days later. I still havent figured out why some of the fan leaves are drying up and falling off. I have attached a few pics, of what they look like just before they fall off........any thoughts????? You can also see my bag seed plant has some redish stems, not sure what the cause of that is either, but I am investigated. The plants do have a pretty strong order, I can only imagine what it will be like in 4-6 more weeks:)

Hey stlmatt how are your temps in the tent with the 400watt? I just ordered a 400 watt light and should be receiving it in a couple days from HTG. On veterans day actually according to ups :) anyways I have a thread started if you don't mind taking a look idk how to add it to my sign but I want too. If you have time take a look let me know what you think. Im trying to decide how to build my grow area and deal with the heat from the 400 my first grow ever so I am a total newb.. I am sub to your thread and I will watch it closely because I hope to have similar results. I will be doing autos though later and good luck on the grow!!!

Update week 11-15-10
Well everything is still on track. I had an issue with some of the older fan leaves drying up and falling off, as well as some of the leaves having nute burn. I flushed each pot with 6 gallons of H2O on 11-10-10, I then restested the soil on 11-13-10 and checked my PH, N, K, P the pH was perfect at about 6.8, The NPK was all on the low side, so I fed them a general feeding dose of TigerBloom and Big Bloom. I have been feeding all 4 plants with 1 gallon, (1/4 gallon each) then watering in the nutes with another 1/4 gallon of H2O. They seems to be loving it, I am going to feed once a week and water about everyother day. When I water I have been useing about 1-2 gallons or 1/4-1/2 gallon per plant. My RH is staying at 39% so they seem to use up water pretty fast. They are still steaching out some, but it seems to have slowed down.........I hope they are about as tall as they are going to get, as I only have room for about 6-8 more inces of growth. The lower section of the plants have really thinned out, as the canopy pretty much blocks any light from reaching the bottom, I have to assume this is somewhat normal. I still have a long way to go, as my estimated time for harvest is Dec 25th.........that would be 65 days from the flip. I must say I wish I would have FIM all of the plants instead on just doing one, the one I topped looks the best and at this point in time I am ging to say it will be my best yeilder......but only time will tell. Well feel free to chime in or ask any questions, as I am sure I left out some details. I must say its been a long time since I couldnt wait for Christmas to get here..LOL, I think its going to be a great Christmas this year:)

Update, Week 5 of Flowering
I have been trying fix what I think is a magneisum deficiency.......as I still have some leaves turning brown and drying up. They start by having small rust spots, then get worse.....dry up and fall off (or get picked off by me) I have been keeping an eye on my NPK levels and PH and all of those seems to be fine. I have been watering with RO water and adding 2 tsp of disolved epsom salt to each gallon, I have also been misting with a 2% epsom solution. I try and not mist to much as I dont want any fungi or rot to set in. RH has been 38-40% and I have lots of air movement so they seem to dry off really fast. Temps inside range from 65-77....so all good there. The Barneys Farm LSD all seem to be at different stages of ripeness (for lack of a better term). The one that has the nice fat cola bud is already turning its pistols amber, but the other plants are still white as can be. The one I topped is by far away the frostyest of the three. Vertical growth has really slowed down....I dont think the plants are going to get much taller, as you can see the tallest is 32". All in all for my first grow I think its went pretty well so far. I am so looking forward to my next grow (AK-48) as I have learned alot on this grow. I will stop feeding them in a few weeks and begin flushing them around mid Dec. I plan to harvest on or about the 25th.......I will be checking the trichomes with my scope to make sure I harvest at the correct time. Any and all comments welcome, :)

Yea, I am trying to mist very little........I have not tryed the cal mag plus. I assume I would have to go to a grow shop like Wormsway to get it???? I live a pretty good distance from any real garden store, but will get some if things dont improve over the next week.

I have been giving them a heavy feeding of Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom and some bat guano once a week. Each plant get 1/2 gallon.......they seem to eat it up as I do check my NPK levels before each feeding. I also switched to RO water a few weeks ago to help with any salt build, as I thought that might be the issue with the dieing leaves.

Yes, I cant wait to try some..........if it smokes anything like it looksI should be very happy:)

Thanks: Stlmatt

Smokes better than it looks...ok taste and smell....kinda spice type but subtle...they smell spicy now dont they? But man the high is awesome...spacey but relaxed..a smile that wont go away...some visuals even....truly top notch

https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/316301-calling-all-noob-growers.html

Read that^^

Works well...yes you do need cal mag and now I am certain I was correct seeing that you use ro which is good but you have to supplement cal mag when you do...good thing is it is only like $15 or there abouts...I use it from 5 days old on

Suggestion...reduce the amount of TB a bit...full on the BB...and a lil grow big to the mix to keep 'em green

Lemme know what you think of the link...make it rain...is da bomb...is what I do with a lil adjustment...and it is "KISS"

Namaste' and again beautiful job bro:peace:
