Does Christmas Makes No Sense Actually To You Too..?

Come on people Get real for a sec. Who the hell doesn't know that Christmas is two holidays, a religious one and a cultural one, there is no mix up here right? I mean we can all agree on that right?

My catholic family celebrates both. I mean like let's say you had twins, are you not going to celebrate one of their birthdays? Sorry Charlie but we can only acknowledge your bro.

Macy's Department Stores commissioned the writing of "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer"...That's what Christmas is all about...

I'm an atheist, and I actually like christmas. It was always a lot of fun as a kid: the lights, christmas tree, family, presents. As an adult I was less into it, until having a child of my own - now it's as fun as ever. I don't think of it as a christian holiday - take all the jesus crap out, and most of it is still left. The christians just muscled in on other peoples holidays to begin with. I'm not a pagan, but I also like that aspect of it; celebrating getting past the shortest day of the year and being on our way to spring.
a religious Christmas was lost many years ago. not that i like either, but trust me christmas is all about the showing people how much you can spend on them, and getting together.

Definitely changing into more of a capitalist holiday
repeat, already is.

I celebrate Xmas for the family traditions of the tree, presents, and big family meal. Nothing religious about it in my house.

I believe in Christ, I try to walk with faith. I am definitely not a perfect Christian, I don't even try to be an 'anything' Christian. When I go to church I am in the company of like minded people. Who for the most part are very good and caring people. Plus, I hear a uplifting positive message.

I used to put up the lights, trim the tree, cook the cookies, wrap presents, but that is pretty much in the past now. Three years ago in this coming February we lost our daughter and Christmas stopped being that pretty fluffy holiday. Now, I hope with all my heart that what I believe in is real.

Merry Christmas and Peace to All,
WW

Merry Christmas everyone! Not really concerned about who believes what. You are free to be the person you want to be in my book. Not a big "commercial holiday" sort of person. Really just enjoy warm times with family on these short winter days. Yes, I am north of the equator.

I'm not losing any sleep over the religious part being lost.

For me and my family it's not about seeing who can spend the most money. We don't have much extra money right now, and are keeping things really simple this year (actually, we do that every year anyway). Guess what... we're still enjoying the holidays. Don't need much money to gather family and friends for a simple meal, spend time together, hang up the lights, etc..
