P.S. I use chains and hooks to raise or lower my lites. I have some of those hangers and I don't use them.
Chains and hooks will work, and have for a long time. But it just takes one time where something slips and you end up with snapped tops and sometimes needing a new bulb.
Before the modern reflector hangers were made, or at least before I ever saw them for sale, I made something out of an old set of blinds ... where when you pull and hold the cord one way you can raise or lower it and when you pull the cord the other direction the one rolling wheel will pinch the cord against the part that doesn't roll and your light then is at that level. I used the parts from an older very large blind that had all metal parts because I did not trust the lighter plastic parts to hold up to the weight, plus it was made for a thicker cord.
Before that I just had two eye hooks in the ceiling with cord running through going to the light and on the wall I had a small cleat, like are used on docks to tie boats off to, and I would loosen the cord from the cleat and raise or lower and then secure it to the cleat again.
That was simple and cheap and it worked great .. as long as you know how to loop the cord to the cleat so it won't slip.
