26 clones and a 600 watter

I got these 26 caboose clones, and a 600 watt hps. The guy who gave me the clones says it will be fine. Everyone else tells me that they are gonna suck and be airy fluffy buds that are worthless. One guys tells me to hack off hella branches and leave mainly just the tops. I dont know what to do, and dont wanna kill my girls by hacking them to death. Another light is out of the question till next grow.

Yup... 25 is neater and better use of light. I would do what guy said and just grow out 25/26 colas. Think of a forest with foot tall snow covered trees.

Do you mean 5 rows of 5 plants? They were vegged too long, and are already kinda tall...like 14-19" each.

Also would a MH added to the flowering be a waste, or would it help? thanx

Cut the lower branches and fan leaves off.

Why would you have him hack the plants when it's 3 weeks into bloom??

In my experience, major pruning stunts the bud development. I've done major pruning on OG Bubba and White Rhino in week 3 and 4 and every time it's minimized weight. I would assume every strain has similar issues. (finicky plants like G13-haze would probably be even more severe).

I might be getting a 600 watt and a 400 watt hps to supplement what I have. I know it is weird to use mix matched stuff, but it is the right price.

Would 1600 watts be enough to support 26 plants without cutting them up?

Depends how big you want them. At 8 ft tall no no it wont be. But if they short and its not super crowded then youll be fine.

3-4 ft tall is all I want. I am using Bush Master to control vertical growth as well.

adding a light is best now, theyr 3 weeks in so the stretch should be pretty well over. the light size is dependent on grow size and not plant numbers

Probably be doing 7ft by 4-5 ft area

1600watts would cover roughly 32sq.ft area maximum. you need 5000lumens/ft thats about 50w/ft

watch out for powdery mildew...with 26 plants and one light ur more likely to see it appear..make sure u have low humidity

cool im thinking ur ganna need a dehumidifier no matter what..more plants=more humidity..i grew 15plants in a cramped closet once and got it..ur set up reminds me of mine so be careful brotha..good luck

I am in a shed 8x8, but I am gonna make a smaller room inside that one to keep heating cost down.
