Its been a while since i've posted. Got real pissed off at my 1st 4 attempts at growing(regie seed at 1st) to see them all go belly up on me. But finally success. Only had enough space to get 1 going. Its my 1st plant ever to make it through veging(without monumental failure LOL). She(hopefully) has been flowering for 6 days now.

Decided i'd better buy some good genetics this time. Fullmoon is a full sativa grown with my southern az climate in mind, high heat and generally low humidity. Thus far it's working for me, or i'm doing something right for once. lol

Used cfl's for low heat gereration. Veged for 5 weeks with 4 26W daylight bulbs = 6400 lumens in my hall closet lined with mylar on 3 sides and facing a semi gloss white wall as the 4th. A small 6'' oscolating fan for circulation.

Constructed a heavy cardboard box to flower also lined with mylar. Through a bit of research and some personal experience i designed it as a 2 peice box, full open grow area below and light chamber above with a sheet of plexi seporating the 2 to keep high heat away. 4 26W and 1 42W 27K bulbs=9100 lumens. There are 2 4"mini fans pulling about 60cfm through the grow below and 1 in the light chamber to keep them ventelated as well pulling 30cfm.

Through the veging cycle i used a small sample bottle of Organicare Veging formula(3-2-3) and now am using Alaskan Fish fert plus micro nutrience(0-10-10) at 1/4 ratio.

I've already had some good growth in these past couple days and i'm eager to see if its gonna be a girl for sure.

Anyone and everyone feel free to comment. Suggestions are always welcome :clap::leaf:

A few things i left out...oops. Transplanted about a week and a half ago to the 5 gallon all black bucket. Which went very well, obviously. She's at least 1' tall and i expect it to be about 2 1/2 feet tall by harvest time and hope to yeild close to an Oz. The soil medium is Whitney Farms Unlce Malcoms all organic mix. Packed with nutrience, i didn't hardly have to give any nutes throughout the the whole grow. I realized this when i almost nute burned a few times and thought it better not to after the 2nd time the leaves tips turned yellow and curled, once i stopped so did the yellowing :)

I know durring flower it requires more phosphorus and potasium. Should I give her a little nitrogen or none at all? None at all is the current plan.

funny thing is that i had started this grow outside late in to summer with the intention of it being roughly the same size i hope to yeild. Though the old man that maintains my duplex came over without notice, looked down at my plant and asked if i was growing marjuana. i said no its a tomato plant. thankfully his eye's aren't that good and he believed me. not wanting to take that chance again i brought her inside.

more pics to come in another day or so. thus far she's doing great :)

this morning i noticed that 2 of the lowest leaves were dry and crispy so i pinched em off. did see a few little black flying bugs in the box, hoping they weren't the cause. tomorrow durring the next light cycle i'm gonna hit em with my mix of neem oil and insecticidal soap. TRYING to keep thing as organic as possible...

she looked about the same everywhere else. more pics to come

ANYONE, passing through checking out my grow, i'm looking for an answer to what is probly a simple question. after looking at a good amout of grows here(RIU) i see people tying their plants down.

Is this done to help make em grow more bushy and thus greater bud production, or just to keep their plants from growing too high up into the lights and avoiding heat exposure? OR both???

You asshat... I was going to say the same exact two things. :)

Definitely add perlite next round. Last time I was filling pots, I ran out of soil when I was filling my last pot. So the last plant got plain soil with no added perlite. I haven't harvested those ladies yet, but it looks like the 1 plant without perlite is going to produce 20-30% less yield. Her sister from the same mom is not only larger and more full, it has a lot more bud sites and a larger main cola. The only difference between the two sisters is the perlite. I learned my lesson... next time I run out of perlite I am going to quit perpetuating stereotypes, get off my lazy ass and go buy some more perlite.

Trust me it gets plenty water, every 2-4 days. And i do make sure to give enough to run out the bottom a good amout. The cracking is only the freshest soul i threw on top when i transplanted a couple weeks ago, only about an inch or sp was put on top to give it a little more stability.

Though i will keep the perlite in mind for the next grow, which I'm starting soon to follow up this 1, 2 plants this time ;)

my computer flipped out and won't let me upload pic right now. 3 weeks into flowering and i see the the start of some hairs. Also the drying of the lowest leaves have come back to green. pics will return once i fix this little problem with it.

I've been made aware that the developement of hairs is a bit behind schedule. I don't what to say, I'm just happy to still have a living plant at this point, after all the failed attempts prior.

Here are some pics from a few days ago, as well as some from this mornings watering, took it into the shower as water flushed out the bottom(white tile in back)

keep up the nitrogen. you wanna keep the leaves green so they can produce the energy needed for bud production. yellowing of leaves=boost nitrogen

its called LSting or low stress training. its done either to create a bushier plant, produce more bud sites, manage height or all of the above.

make sure during the dark period there isnt any light leaking in. light leakage could slow down budding. another possible cause for the slow start could be genetics

any way, your plant looks very healthy, youre doing a great job

Thanks Wally Nutter, found a blanket, a sheet and a big peice of cardboard to help with any light leaking in.

Since adding more light shielding buds seem to have responded to it :leaf:

Looking for a liquid ogranic nitrogen blend to add to my alaskan fish fert(0-10-10). So far as a substitute i mixed in a 1/4 ratio of my vegging nutes(3-2-3) to make up the difference. She's starting to drink a good amount, her thurst has gone up about a qt. I've been mixing in 1 qt bottles but now in a gallon jug.

Also been lookin at my lower leaves and buds. Of course they are usually smallest and not as dense as the higher growth. Added a 26W down in the growth chamber next to the fans keeping heat to a minimum to help, also been turning the plant 1/4 everyday for even growth.

Sprouted another seed about 5 days ago. She's in an old box from my last grow attempt, its a bit rigged up right now but $ is tight and i grew this current 1 in a rather rigged up way as well and so far so good. Sitting under 1 26w 65K and 1 26W 27K about 3" below and a 4" mini fan for circulation

want to mention that she's been drinking 2-3 qt's of water, yesterday she soaked up about a gallon before anything began to drain out

Found some Organic Choice Miracle Grow(8-0-0) derived from sugarbeet molasses. Figured i can kill 2 birds with 1 stone, nitrogen and molasses through out flowering. Looked up the msds on it and there's a hand full of micro nutes in very small quantities. Also gonna apply at 1/4 ratio with my fish fert

OH NO!! Found some little white spots(insect looking) on the undersides of 3 lower fan leaves and a chunk of the leaf on 1 was eaten, not sure at all what they are. Hit them with NEEM iol II(with pyrethrin and piporel butoxide) and a little insecticial soap. If they don't clear up by tomorrow I'll continue for the next week or so to gaurantee they're gone for good. More pics coming tomorrow
