i know the feeling bro...i have herniated disc's and degenerated disc disease at L2,3,4,5, S1 and S4...chronic pain sucks man...and whats even worse is having your life revolve around the fucking medicine you have to take...ive had the steriod injections, but they did nothing at all. and fusions suck man...did you ever get a radio frequency or a discogram? where they keep you awake and fucking burn your nerves? that was the worst by far...im really starting to feel alot better, pain wise, after this last surgery. so hopefully i can get somewhat of my life backI was injured in the line of duty. I crushed L-2 and L-3 and ruptured 2 discs. I've had several injections, a couple of minimally invasive experimental procedures that didn't do shit and finally they fused 3 of the vertebrae and stabilized the broken ones as best they could. I was actually really lucky. I can't do near what I used to but it's mainly due to chronic pain issues.
lol! I haven't checked into smackberry yet but I have it written down on my list of strains to look at. It's funny you talk about finding the perfect strain. It's like searching for the holy grail!oh doc sorry to hear that well we shall keep searching for the perfect strain have you checked into that smackberry from sannies i was telling you about i thing you may enjoy it..i will be getting some maybe around my birthday it will be my present to me lol amd reggae i should have expected that but funny thing is do you care to take a guess how old i was when that song came out??
Sounds like we've got really similar injuries. I did have both the RF and discogram. The nerve burning did suck, although they had me really fucked up on propfol and morphine. I wasn't out and I remember wincing from the pain when they were burning the nerves. I hurt like a mofo afterwards too. The injections were pretty much a joke. They gave me 2 that actually helped for about a month but then it was business as usual. I stressed bad about getting the fusion but my wife finally talked me into it and I went for it about 2 years ago. They went in through the front and it wasn't as bad as I expected. I woke up in the recovery room and was totally with it (or so I thought). They had me whacked on dilaudid which really helped the pain. I was up and walking with a walker like an hour after the surgery. I also had them take me off the morphine pump after the first day. Big mistake! I had to be shot full of morphine because the pain got out of control. It took forever to recover but I feel the best I've felt since all this mess started. I'm with you on the medication thing. I can't really drink beer (which I love) that much 'cause it fucks with my medication and really makes me sick. It sounds like you're doing much better and I definitely wish you all the best bro.i know the feeling bro...i have herniated disc's and degenerated disc disease at L2,3,4,5, S1 and S4...chronic pain sucks man...and whats even worse is having your life revolve around the fucking medicine you have to take...ive had the steriod injections, but they did nothing at all. and fusions suck man...did you ever get a radio frequency or a discogram? where they keep you awake and fucking burn your nerves? that was the worst by far...im really starting to feel alot better, pain wise, after this last surgery. so hopefully i can get somewhat of my life back
yeah sounds like we can relate man, im glad your fusion went well! they didnt give me shit on the discogram, just said..."this might hurt for a minute"..they forgot to mention it was 45 minutes...after about 15 i asked them if i could stand up while they did it, i ended up holding onto the metal edge of the bed. and i bent to bedrail almost in half from clinching it...dilaudid is a miracle sometimes man...my doctor has me on a routine at the hospital here in town...if i ever need to, i can go in, tell them my name and that i need a pain block. and they immediatley put me into a room with 4 CC's of it for 3 hours and see if im better, i havnt had to do that since my last operation though. which is awesome, cause i was doing it like once a month. after my first surgery, they were rotating me from morphine to dilaudid because i kept screaming at them telling them it wasnt working. 3 days later finally a nurse came in that would listen to me..she checked my iv and realized it wasnt in all the way!!! and then she noticed that i had an infection on my thigh because the fluid was leaking out..so for first time i had relief in 3 days..but then 2 house later i went home haha....its been a ride man, but what can you dolol! Not much bro, you? Pain is one of those things, it's so subjective and is different for everybody. I'm not a complete candy ass but I'm not great with pain either. It's been rough but I've managed to continue to live my life and it has given me new appreciation for life and how short it really is.
