I know a lot of people may say differently but this much I know. Cutting off healthy fan leaves is not a good idea IMO. If they are more than 50% damaged then, yes, you should remove them.
thanks guys! yeah it was awesome, we would draw up plans with the parents or whoever and then build what we transportable in our trucks and then build the rest and assemble it on site...in a few of them if they had more then one slide, i would dig a water hose under ground and attach it to the fort and then put a piece of PVC pipe on the top of the slide with the hose connected and drill tiny holes in it...BAM INSTANT WATER SLIDE! kids loved it and we made good money...we built a 3 story fort once, it had a picnic table on the very top about 25 feet up with a slide that went into the home owners pool....ill get out portfolio that we used to show customers...it was definitly a great way to make some serious side money and the best part was telling the kids it was ready, and we would play on it with them for a while...i miss it, but once im healed i will get back into it...my buddy still does it and every now and agian he comes over to use my table sawYou were in business making kid's play houses and forts? BTW, I'm sorry to hear about your injury. I too was injured a few years ago with a broken back. I've had like 11 surgeries now I think. It sucks.

I was injured in the line of duty. I crushed L-2 and L-3 and ruptured 2 discs. I've had several injections, a couple of minimally invasive experimental procedures that didn't do shit and finally they fused 3 of the vertebrae and stabilized the broken ones as best they could. I was actually really lucky. I can't do near what I used to but it's mainly due to chronic pain issues.
