Starting with Aerogarden (my first grow, advice appreciated)

Cool, i thought you were using SUPERthrive nutes. I've heard they make nutes for hydro, and i think you can get it at lowes. I honestly didn't have trouble getting my seedlings to root. Some of them were duds, but i think they were just premature seeds that never cracked. Fox farm is a good line of nutes. I have some of their soil ferts.

Offline sounds safer than buying them online...lol j/k

Everyone seems to recommend Dr. Chronic, and i've heard good and bad stories. There are obviously some things that you must consider in order to keep maximum anonymity (i.e. method of payment, shipping address). Most ppl will tell you to use a prepaid gift card type credit card and ship to a location other than your grow op LOL. But i've never done it, nor do i plan to.

That is how i ordered the seed that i am germing now from Dr.Chronic. I used a prepaid Visa gift card that i bought from the bank.

alright bcuz in an earlyier message you were talking about 5-6 nodes.
if i can pull off growing a couple small plants and getting bud from them, ill be more than happy. LOL.
i just dont know how long before i start 12/12 if i wait too long they will be too big for the AG.

you gotta have sopplimental light or the ag wont yeild shit. like worlds and my setups we have very similar lighting added on. works great

Well fuck... Last night the plants grew like 3 inches taller while they were in the dark. I came in 3 hours after the lights came on and found this... Fucking light burn. Yesterday they weren't even close to the light, this morning they were touching it. I chopped down the male in soil, and all the AG plants are under my home made fixture now. Looks like two more males in the AG need to be chopped, and thankfully these were the ones that got light burn (instead of my unknowns). Anyways, now I know why ppl say to raise your lights really high when flowering...those bastards can catch up quick!

yep! they grow into those lights really fast. sorry to hear it happened to you - it happened to me too.

Yea i got a pretty good feeling about one of them being female, but the other is just plain stunted and prolly won't flower at all. So it looks like i'll be cloning for sure once i can tell. Also, i heard that putting a female back in 24/7 after it shows sex can cause it to go hermie.

i mean it could happen, but if you can pull off enough clones it really wouldnt matter. the clones i got were from a plant that was a few weeks in flowering, they smelt crazy when i got them from the surrounding buds. it worked for me man. good luck

Couple questions about your clones:

Were there any white hairs or preflowers present when you received them?

Also, how many leaves were there? Did you cut the bottom ones off (of the clone, not later on) to promote faster growth in the top?

The two males in the AG were cut down today. I tried to tease the roots apart, and i cleaned the resevoir. Hopefully i didn't damage too much... there's prolly still some dead pieces that i didn't catch. I have one nice looking, hopefully female, and i have this little runt from a diff strain that i moved to the front so it could get more light. Looks so bare in there now that three males are gone.

yea on those clones, my buddy is an old school grower and hooks me up with the clones, there from the bottom of his plants were light is hard to get too. he knows in an amount of days of flowering when and when not he can cut clones, so they didnt have hairs but they were very very close, they were all ready to bud but got cut and returned to veg.
