Just received an order from a seedbank. What I got was an empty envelope (the heftier sort with miniature-bubblewrap insulation), with a loosely adhered seal that showed potential signs of tampering. Ordering to an unfriendly state...any advice/suggestions on what might have happened?

sounds like postal service people got sticky fingers could not eat package did not wat to throw in their wast can so sent on to you

weird. I've ordered before.. when I was in a non legal state.. and I got my orders (total of 4 orders) and I got all of them without any problems whatsoever. Sounds to me like your package ended up in greedy hands.. and someone decided to just keep what your ordered for themselves.
I've never had any problems ordering seeds.. and I've made multiple orders from Attitude; Nirvana; Speedyseedz and TGA Subcool.. never one problem from any of them.. or my orders that I made with them.
You just got unlucky.. and someone along the way was greedy.. (probably a pothead..) and decided he/she would simply pocket your order for their own enjoyment.

When I got my seed order the first time I ordered I was like a kid on Christmas. Opened it up, and could not find them. I am not going to disclose the genius fashion that the seedbank used to conceal them, but it had me baffled for half an hour. Just Brilliant!

never even heard of speedy seeds. no offence to them but they dont sound like a co id buy from. only 1 i like there and do bizz with is Attitude, but then im kinda bias as i do test of their stuff.
ive even had a chunk of budder go missing form a package with a bottle of nutes in it. the nutes got sent forward but budder was gone. so it has nothing to do with legal state or not. im fully federal legal. and am allowed to use the mail system to mail pot....legaly. i was re funded money for the loss in fact. it had basic coverage of 100 buck and i took it.....god i love canna-da

Haven't you heard? Speedyseedz is not selling seeds anymore. He is running his own forum now. He evidently never paid subcool for an order and jacked a bunch of other people too. Check out Hempdepot.ca. It's the only place I order from.

That really blows. I just ordered seeds for the first time from attitude (no problems btw--slightly over-priced), and I couldn't WAIT to get my shit...
(regular ground shipping only took 10 days to ship half way across the world in my case and if you type 420 as a coupon code when you place your order, you get 10% off)
I hope that what ever you do it doesn't stop you from growing. Throw down some bag seed--- fuck it, cause there ain't a GOD damn thing you can do about it other than order more seeds.

I wish it were only naivety, but the package is clearly empty. Ripped along one of the edges and held up to the light, it is painfully clear that its not an issue of too much stealth. As I'd said, it also looks like it could have been tampered with and it was a bit too easy to open the adhesive seal. I'm just shocked to receive the envelope itself. It was ordered from one of the RIU sponsored seedbanks.

I thought customs usually removed the illegal contents, put anote in and then send the package to its destination
Anyone have more experience with customs? I've heard the same thing (that they replace the offending material with a letter), but first-hand info or something more concrete would be great. I'm just not sure if I should try to have more seeds sent to the same address (maybe using a different seedbank).

we deal with customs every day in my bizz. if they took it you`d know. no way they will forward it without keeping some kind of evidence. at least once a week we get skids full returned because of silly shit like a pot pic in a magazine. customs hates how free the weed up here is for us canadians
i also know of many many people that have had this situation and in all cases no original envelope was forwarded, just one from customs saying they seized illegal contraband, then some are followed up with a visit from local coppers depending on what it was and amounts if it was worthy of that expense.

Haha I felt the same way the other day when I received an order. I Opened the envelope to find a small box with a pair of earrings, after opening the box and removing the "gift" I noticed the box came apart. Tada there where my seeds!

i ordered seeds recently from a fairly popular place that i've used a few times in the past.. i saw no order for about a month, when i emailed the place and told them that it had been a month, they agreed that a month was way too long and mailed me my order again.. within a week, i got my order.. the next day, i got another envelope from the same place.. if you've ever ordered from this place, you know that the envelopes are very unigue, and are the only place i've ever gotten such an envelope from.. when i looked closer at the package, i see that it had been ripped open, and stapled back up. inside was my very first dreaded customs letter saying that they had confiscated my seeds and forwarded the rest of my package, which was just an empty envelope.. the customs letter mentioed illegal items like steriods, amyl nitrates, which i had to look up, and drugs, and it had hand written in the drugs section, seeds, and the drug box was checked... at the bottom of the letter it gave a phone number and addy and i think the last line said something along the lines of no further action would be taken.. good enough for me.. got my beans, and a cool souvegnoir at the same time..
