Nirvana's Northern Light Feminized + Autoflower Grow

Great thread first off.

I am presently 12 days in with my Nirvana Nothern Lights Auto seeds. Germinated in cup with water for 24hrs then planted 3mm down in MiracleGro Potting Mix soil. I have them under 400w Metal Halide bulb. Room Temp is 73 degrees lights on, 70 degrees lights off. They are on 20/4 light schedule. Just water and light so far.

First pic - Plants strains I am growing.

2nd is Close up of northern lights auto from nirvana.

Will keep up in this thread with updated pics/info as they go.

Beautiful looking girls you have got there! Let me know how Big Buddha and Rock Lock turn out, I heard Rock Lock was a really good strain and the buzz was amazing!

Nice thread. I have (2) nirvanas-northern-light-feminized-autoflower seedlings. My setup is a 90w UFO Adjustable Enhanced Spectrum LED Grow Light (supposed to be equivalent to 400W), GrowLab 60, (2) General Hydroponics Waterfarms /w airstone (1) seedling in each, Nutes:General Hydroponics Flora series and Humboldt Myco Madness. Also using distilled water as my area has very hard water. Hope to have good grow - it is my first. I will post pics.

Sounds like a nice setup, I hear very good things about the new LED technology. That with the hydro setup, your buds will be fantastic! I would love to see some pictures, feel free to post whatever you like this thread is open for anyone to post whatever they want.

Lots of Nirvana AF growers in this thread. Let me give you heads up, Nirvana has pulled all the new AF are not selling them anymore. I've been in contact with them about these AF and they have agreed that the seeds they sold are not viable. They takes months longer to finish, grow way too big, and ofter fail to flower. If you are growing AF and your plants are less then weeks old, you would be better off pulling them now. MY NL AF are over eight weeks old and still do not have any bud sites. If I had purchased normal seeds, and flowered them in the third week, I'd three week old fowers/buds on my plants now. If taking five months while getting half the yeild (if they decide to flower at all) is acceptalbe, then let them grow. If they are less the four weeks old, you can start a new grow, finish at the same time, while getting twice the yeild with no risk of flower failure.

I just went to their site and they are still for sale... My plants are doing fine they are staying short and bushy. 2 of my ladies are over 4 weeks old and I really think I am just gonna finish this grow out, Next time I think I am going to try out The Attitude, damn Nirvana pisses me off, I thought I was going to get a real autoflowering strain, not a giant genetic freak! I will let you know how mine turn out.

I see that all of Nirvana's Autoflowering strains are "out of stock" except for Short Ryder. I just sent them a ticket from their site on the Help Desk, if they sent me some seeds from a "bad batch" then they better send me some photoperiod feminized Northern Lights 5 pack for free or else I am done with Nirvana for good, I'm pissed right now!

Thats what I should have said, they are listed "out of stock", but this is what Alice said to me:

"Thank you for your complaint. That may sound strange, but we take is very serious! It seems like the first batches we received from our breeder were doing fine, but the latest batches are not doing what they are supposed to be doing and I am sorry about that. At the moment we are studying all the grow reports we have received so far to see what the problem is exactly and have contacted our breeder about this problem. We might have to decide to stop selling these strains, or at least change the description in our shop. I would like to send you 2 packs of feminized seeds from a strain of your choice to compensate you for the Northern Lights. Please let me know which strain (s) you would prefer to receive.

I'm sure they will make you the same offer. If you can get your new seeds in two weeks or so, it would be best to pull those and start the new ones. I only wish I could have been warned before I was two months plus into my grow.

I am going to continue this one until I receive some more beans, because guess what my dumb ass bought 2 5 packs of these "Nirvana's Northern Light Auto + Fem" seeds so I guess those are useless seeds too. I am not messing with these Auto's anymore, my next grow is going to be AK48, it's not an autoflowering strain but it is supposed to finish in as fast as 48 days hence the name.

I asked Alice to send me the AK 48 and the White Widow. Not sure if I will ever buy seeds from them again, prob not. My next grow will be a WW/AK 48 grow.

Sounds like a good idea, if "Alice" or "Charlie" or whoever it is at Nirvana make right and send me I will probably go with AK 48 and Auroa Indica or Chrystal.

I placed my order with Nirvana on 08/18/2010. Anyone know when the effected orders were shipped? This is my first grow and wasn't wise enough to practice with bag seeds. I opened up a ticket with Nirvana asking if the quality of these seeds may be lacking and if my order was filled from a bad batch please let me know so that I may start a new crop ASAP.

Hey Mr. Robbins, I ordered mine around the same time as you I believe, mine are doing well so far, I can see where they are already starting to flower, right here at 4 weeks they should be flowering in about ten days. I will post an update on pictures at the end of the week (Friday or Saturday) So you can see how much these little babies grow in just a few days.

Well Folks, I have some bad news, I contacted "Alice" from Nirvana and here is what she said to me:

"Hello Travis,
I'm afraid we do have problems with the autoflowering strains..... Please rest assured that we're taking this matter very seriously, and that we have taken it up directly with the breeder.
Meanwhile, we've taken our autoflowerers out of stock until we can be sure that quality control is properly functioning again.
I will send you some more seeds. You will receive the same strain you originally ordered, only I will make them ordinary feminised seeds instead of autoflowering ones.

I am so mad right now. What do you guys think I should do? I have over 4 weeks of time invested into this and they look good, should I give them 2 weeks to see if they flower or just toss them out and start a new batch?

Give them two weeks on 12/12 and see if that helps. The problem might be is that they wont auto flower. It will take two weeks to get your new seeds anyway.

Just keep going they will flower they will just not finish in 60 days it would be like growing femd NL. Dont waste the 4 weeks you have got into them.

After reading the posts in this thread from Cryptonic, I contacted the place where I got my Nirvana Northern Lights fem auto's. They were excellent with customer service and will be replacing my NL auto's with different seeds I chose that matched the $ amount I spent on NL seeds. If anyone wants to know the name of the company I can positively recommend, shoot me a pm.

Replacement Strains I chose we're: Afghan Kush x White Widow, White Rhino and Jock Horror. All regular females. Gonna wait to do auto's again once they are back in line.

I know I am not to far in with the plants I have going now but I'm gonna let em ride, see what happens. Only 6/12 are NL's.

Okay here's my plan. I'm going to put these bitches on 12/12 along with the new fem seeds they send me. I'm going to grow the fem seeds 12/12 from seed to harvest along with the autos I already have growing, seperate lights and pots of course though, this grow will be done with 3 to 5 gallon pots probably 3 photoperiod NL with my 4 that will be a 7 plant harvest, im about to order either a 400 or 600 Watt HPS to go along with what I already have as far as lighting. Plus Im going to buy a 6 bulb lamp put the Y connectors and bam 12 42 watt CFLs + 400 or 600 watt HPS, that will grow some Dense Dank Budz!
